Oh GOD!!! I can't wait until I've saved up some $$$ so I can get a gamecube, smash brothers, and 3 more controllers.

EDIT: Does anyone know if Kirby kicks as much ass in Melee as he did in the first one?

Nice to see so many people enjoying their Gamecubes. All we do here at work is play SSB. That game is so fun. Waiting to get Super Monkey Ball but the damn store never carries the damn thing. :|

Oh , I hope so. Kirby rocked in the first game.
I am waiting till the price goes down a bit before I buy. I know that'll be a while, but I have time. As soon as PS2 hits 199.99 instead of 299.99 it's mine. Just can't see spending 300 on a console. I remember when I bought my brand new Super Nintendo on sale for 178 bucks, and thought that was incredibly expensive at the time. I really want the cube, though!!

man, i still cannot get over just how TINY this machine is. It is so SMALL. The games are SO SMALL. Its amazing how technology has advanced. Also this machine is Quiet. No noise whatsoever. Unlike the BIG ASS CLUNKY XBOX, which is loud as hell, this machine makes no noise and takes up no space. Also, i have yet to notice any significant load times at all. This is great.

<< OK I just made an impulse buy... xboxes all out of stock in my state so I bought a gamecube >>

heh, two days ago i did the exact opposite. I'm happy with my Xbox, but i'm sure you'll be happy with the GC. The size kicks @ss and the games and graphics look great.

I love Madden2002.

edit:my Xbox make ~0 noise.

Anybody know if Final Fantasy X will be or is available for Gamecube? Or is it just for PS2?

FIFA 2002 is awesome!!! The graphics are incredible and the sound is awesome coming from my home theater system.

On a side note:

Do yourself a favor and buy an s-video cable. It really does make a HUGE difference. Everything is brighter, sharper, and the colours are much richer.

If you guys want a really good single player game, get Batman. Very good game and it looks very much like the cartoon (not Batman Beyond).

I admit that Nintendo did great in GC and even better than my ps2 systems. .....but I definetely like to bust more than 10 bad guys in a police car and at the same time being hunting by other polices and even helicopter in GTA3-ps2. Wonder how is it like if we have all those great game in GC.

AntiSocial - i bet you didn't watch much detective story, the right way is to use a dollar so everybody can see the relative size. You might be a 20 foot giant with a elepant hand for all we know. :)

I'm glad to see that the lame attempts to trash the XBox haven't turned this thread to crap!

Anyway, someone asked about SSX Tricky... I have it for the XBX and it is awsome... great fun... I've been wanting to try out Super Smash Bros. as I hear it kicks some major booty... as well as Pikmin... I only wish I knew anyone w/ a GC... Anyway... enjoy, all consoles seem to have their high points!

<< I am soo tempted to get a gamecube and a Xbox and a PS2. damn >>

I've thought the same as well.... But I always come back to the PC...:)

Still, I've been thinking about the Xbox - I'm not sure if I want to buy it just for Halo...
>>

I got GC a few weeks back (early x-mas present). Tony Hawk 3 is cool, but hard (for me anyway). Madden 2002 kicks ass. I like the play interface much better than Xbox, but the graphics are about the same. Luigi, Smash, and Monkeyball don't do anything for me.

I won $372 on a fluke the night after I got my GC. We were at my mother-in-laws and they decided we were all going to go out bowling that night. I was havng fun playing Madden with my bro-in law, but figured what the hey. On a whim, we bought some tickets for the "contest" they were having. To make a long story short: My number got called, I bowled a strike, I won the money, I bought an XBox the next day.

HALO kicks ass enormously. I would buy the Xbox just for Halo (although it is coming out for PC I heard); just as I would buy GC for the next Zelda and Castlevania. If you like Quake, Doom, etc... then you will love Halo. It is a blast playing cooperative. But, where the heck are the bots for multiplayer???

I knew about Zelda, but I didn't know about Castlevania... Guess what though... They are coming out with a version of Metroid! *drool* I also hope they come out with some really fun multi-player games. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled on that one.

please metroid is definitely not an FPS game. If you have ever played the original one on NES you will know that it is quite unlike most games. That original game still gives me the creeps, it really makes me feel as if i am on an entirely different planet altogether.

whoops... thats just what I heard... hence the "I hear..." in my post. Anyway, sure the original metriod was not FPS but I dont think FPS' were around when Metroid was out ;)..
.

<< btw is gamecube better than x box at anything? >>

They both have their advantages and disadvantages... its all a matter of perspective..
