Hello All,

I recently purchased a gamecube controller to play all those missed gems on my Wii, but the cable isnt long enough to reach my couch. Do they make extension cables and/or a good wireless controller? Anyone recommend me one? (especially if its one I can just plug into the wiimote?)

Nintendo makes the Wavebird, the wireless Gamecube controller. I'd go with that.

The Nintendo Wavebird has been out of production for years now, and even used ones will run you $100+. You used to be able to find cable extenders for GameCube controllers, but I don't know if they make them any more.

Really? I saw a Wavebird for sale locally for $25 the other day...

*edit* There's a $27.99 BIN w/Free shipping on Ebay...

Hmm...looks like people are selling them used on Amazon for $30. I can't check eBay right now, but maybe that is where I saw the $100+ figure. Or maybe that is only for "new" Wavebirds...:hmm:

I wish I still had my Platinum Wavebird, but I sold that many years ago...

Yeah, NIB they may command a premium as a collector's item or something, used though they're not terribly expensive.

There's a third party wireless, white controller made by Pelican. I bought it about 2.5 years ago at Walmart.

Maybe I should sell all my wavebirds, I had no idea they commanded that kind of price. I bought all 5 of mine for 12.24 each on Target clearance a few years go, 4 are used and one is New in package as a spare.

When the Wii first came out, the Wavebirds shot up in price. $50-80 I would see. I don't think I've seen them get to $100, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm guessing demand has significantly fell if BIN is at the normal retail price

Nintendo is making a classic controller (yes it's wireless) and releasing it in Japan. It should be on play-asia soon or hit our shores too.
