Ha, I always though FAO sold things for like $5-$10 over MSRP.

Then they wonder why they have to file for Chapter 11...

It's the uber-snobby toy store for the uber-rich... I remember going there as a kid and was always like "man, this place looks like it belongs in the movies". I could either get like 1 toy from there or 10 from toys r us. :)

Hehehe, will order 100 as soon as I can get the page.

I'm going to let them know what happens when they don't hire competent people who double checks their work.

EDIT: They only allow up to 99. Darn, but I guess one less isn't going to be a problem.

I tried to get BB to match, but since FAO is out of stock they will not honor it. Also, I called FAO it wasn't a mistake, that is what they were selling them for.

That blows!

Circuit City will match if you have an FAO by you (within driving distance). Just print off the web page and bring it in.

CC rocks!!

I just called them to order. They said they are sold out - only had about 90 in stock. The price was also only for the Indigo GameCube. Hope someone was able to get in on it, but looks like it's dead now.

Didn't really expect it to work ... tried to PM at both CC and CrapUSA. At CC, manager literally laughed in my face. Count the excuses:

@ CC:
1. Mgr:We don't match to internet only companies. Me:There's a store in mall of america.
2. Mgr:We only match LOCAL b&m. Me:Again, there's a store in MOA.
3. Mgr:We will lose money if we sell it this price. Me don't care.
4. Mgr:This product is price protected. Me:What?
5. Mgr:We can't sell it below this price. The mfgr will be mad. Mgr walks away from me at this point.
** CustomerService was decent guy. Mgr was a total prick.

@ CrapUSA:
1. Mgr:We don't match to internet only companies. Me:There's a store in mall of america.
2. Mgr:We only match LOCAL b&m. Me:Again, there's a store in MOA.
3. Mgr:We only match competitors. Me:FAO Schwartz is competing with you for my $$$
4. Mgr:We only match price if in store. Can I call? Me:sure (I'm f-cked).
** at CrapUSA, the guy was decent and called the local B&M. No deal. At that point I said thanks for hearing me out.

Again, I didn't expect a PM, But was annoyed at the number of lame-o excuses.
