Was in Costco tonight and they had their Gamecube bundles for extremely cheap. If I didn't know better I'd think it was a price mistake, but it was clearly marked with a few signs.

They had a bundle pack of a Gamecube, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and a memory card for $169 minus a $50 instant rebate = $119 final price. (It might have been 159-50=109 too, I should really pay more attention, but it was definitely not more than 119)

They also had a separate bundle pack with Mario Sunshine + hint book, extra controller, memory card, console for $149 after $50 instant rebate. (I think this was $149, might have been $169, I think the other one was a clearly better deal so didn't pay attention to this one that much).

They have some bundles listed on their website, but they are much higher prices. Worth a look in your local Costco though. I didn't buy one as I already have a cube.

*drool*

So they have lowered the GC price to $99 as rumors initially promised. They just bundle it with stuff right now :)

I wonder if you can still get the extra free game from Nintendo with this deal... Since it comes from Nintendo, Costco might not mind. But I'm not sure if the free game deal is supposed to work with bundles like the Mario bundle.

that sounds like a good deal, seeing as big N didn't mention any price cuts yet.. or maybe they just waited till later in E3? either way, this would be esp hot if their is no price cut.

btw, you can get a free game w/ Mario Sunshine bundle, or others had in the past. they have just added Zelda WW, and Metroid Prime is $20 over at Block Buster, so you can get some kickin games for cheaper than a stand alone PS2 console at $179 if costco lets you get another free game w/ it. target used to right? ;)

Depends on what type of gamer you are.

If you do not have a brain, get Xbox, otherwise, get the cube...

LOL, just kidding. Seriously, the cube does have some GREAT A++++ games like Zelda, Metroid, Mario Sunshine. But they don't have a TON of them.

The Xbox has a lot of games. Many will argue that they don't have many games as good as the three listed above... It all boils down to what type of gamer you are. Xbox does have some nice exclusives also like Halo.

Damm I have a xbox and love it but for this price I might have to eat my words about people with multiple counsels and geta Cube. Games likezelda and mario may appeal to a younger audience but I still play SMB3 on my PPC with pocket NES. Works best with xscale processors.

Well from the sound of it you're saving about $25 with this deal.

$150 for gamecube and most places have a free game with it.
-$50 which is what it sounds like Costco is doing instead of the free game.
+$30 for Smash Bros. Melee
+$15 for memory card since It's most likely the 59 card.

$150-$50+$30+$15 = $145 normally, so $120 is a pretty good deal. Too bad I just bought one 3 weeks ago.

I'd get this in an instant for my sister if the game wasn't SSBM. Good deal for those who want this game with the system.

What's the official drop in price for the cube without all those rebates and stuff, since ps2 and xbox dropped to 179.99 from 199.99

Hey,

When the consoles are so darn cheap... say 50 bucks. Then all of them will sell like hot cakes. And woooo, you wouldnt see anyone on the streets anymore. Coz all of them are playing consoles. 3X8=24(8 hours each for cube, box and 2)

Anyway, 99 bucks sounds good. But I already got it at that price earlier from ebgames/wallet deal.
