Gameboy Advance for $60 at Fry's Bay Area

Fry's has the Gameboy Advance console for $60 through Tuesday 4/2. Limit 1 per customer.

I'm thinking about getting the new Jet Black GBA console from one of the online import stores though. Heard the new panasonic screen on this Black console is a bit clearer than the previous Sharp screen, although there's still no back light.

Anyone has the black GBA and can comment on whether the improvement is worth the $20+ difference?
 
Yes, it's worth the difference for the black one...

But not for the screen. Black ones are cooler. 😛 The screens are look the same (dark).
 
I looked at ncsx, tronixweb, therage and buyrite.

therage has the black console for $75.

buyrite has it for $78.

But considering the rumor that Nintendo is going to come up with a console with backlight, I might want to wait too, esp. since Sensor says there's not much difference in clarity between the Panasonic and Sharp screens.

I guess so. I haven't bought from them yet but numerous people on the games newsgroups have, and it seems most of them are pretty satisfied. Search any of the store names on Google Groups to read more.

Cool... The black GBA console sells for $75 and the portablemonopoly afterburner costs $35. So $109 is a pretty good price considering they install it for you.

NCSX and Tronixweb are great and very reputable. But whatever you do, DO NOT BUY FROM BUYRITE! Their prices are usually better by a few bucks, but they have a horrible reputation of sending wrong items or not sending items at all and then not correcting their mistakes.

Now I haven't bought from any of these stores for several years so their reps might of changed, but I doubt it.

I've never ordered from them, but I've heard nothing but consistently good things about TheRage.

I've never even heard of Lik-Sang before. 😕
 
The screen was improved nearly right after launch in two short generations to make it less obvious. It's true, so...yeah, there is a conspiracy! 😉
I imported mine early, so no luck for me!
