Game with Explosions

Far Cry 2. It's still a shooter, but depending on your play style you really can use fire and exploding items/weapons extensively. If you work it out correctly, it's possible to set a fire on one side of a camp and have it burn down and blow up the whole thing.

With some easy modding in Supreme Commander you can easily make it so that every shot is a massive explosion with accompanying ground-shaking.

Certain HUGE explosions in that game especially how HUGE ships get!!

Sneaking around and planting bombs in Syndicate was a blast. Too bad they haven't come out with a newer version of the game.

The Hitman games usually have some good explosive moments. Most missions can be done without firing a shot (in fact it is usually required to get "silent assasin")

:thumbsup: Those big ships crack to smaller pieces and still go boom boom boom for some time after the main BOOM. Looks really nice. Plus FreeSpace 2 is such a nice game 🙂

If you still have a dusty ole Xbox or PS2 I would highly recommend you check out a game called Black by Criterion Games. You wanna talk about awesome explosions! And don't be fooled by playing it on these older consoles, the graphics are still quite good, bordering modern day graphics just dumbed down some.

I actually just read that you can get this awesome game through Xbox Originals thru XboxLive on your 360 if you've got one.

Another big explosion game would be Burnout Revenge...on 360 too I think, but its totally what you're looking for.

Fallout 3 and the BigBoy gun with the mini-nuke is quite a spectacle!

In the U.S version, it's called the Fat Man. Cars in Fallout 3 blow up pretty good too, especially if there are many of them in one parking lot.

Find the M.I.R.V. gun in Fallout3 (it launches 8 nukes at once, spreads them a bit) and use one of the cheat codes that gives no reloads and unlimited ammo. Climb on Tenpenny Tower and start showering stuff... 😀 Or just aim at the sky when you're on the ground. You should manage like 6 shots before the first ones hit the ground (that's 48 nukes 😀). It's totally insane but looks really nice!

EDIT: I actually "MIRV'ed" the last "boss"... not really needed buy hey, almost feels like a real boss battle then 😉

If the OP wants loud explosions, my campaign is a good bet. It has custom flak and explosion sounds that are much louder than the stock ones. 😀

It's fun to stand on the ground and launch that thing straight down. Your body goes up like a mile high. 😀

Loved FS2 and played FS2: Source for the nicer eye candy.

Never managed to get Campaigns to work... I kinda suck at the modding stuff, even just applying them 😀
