***LET IT DROP***

Hi all,

I'm curious....would anyone in here be interested in a specialized game trading forum here on AT? I keep going into the fs/t and see a game I want but then it's on pc and I'm specifically looking for it on ps3...grrr

Could we get a special fs/t stickied in here?

Vote above so we know if it's worth the effort for the mods to do this. ^_^

EDIT: I know about the Game Exchange Thread but there's no selling allowed in that particular thread...I was thinking a dedicated FS/T section specifically for games/consoles/accessories.

I agree that it should be moved into the console section BUT...this particular thread states NO MONEY TO BE EXCHANGED which means it's only for trading...we need to be able to sale/trade agreed?

anyone else?

I'm also interested in the 'why' people voted for No?

Well, I voted yes. But I wish I could change it now. It's kind of superfluous. We have a For Sale / For trade section. And then we have a console/pc game exchange thread. While the latter is not really used, it's available - so that's on us. And the former, while used, is just not used enough. If more people tried to sell their stuff, and at reasonable prices (say you have get more than a trade-in at gamestop or craigslist or it's not even worth it - but you can't ask full frickin' retail for your game if it's been out more than like 30 days). We have a FS/FT forum. It's just not active enough for games these days - especially PC which is almost dead due to DRM and Steam and such. I mean what else do we want, a FPS trading forum, an RPG trading forum, 360 only?

And while I don't want to necessarily take people away from AT, this site is actually pretty good at times: http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/homepage.asp

Because such a forum already exists. You just don't want to look through the posts and weed out the PC games or the games for the consoles that you don't own.

So why wouldn't it make sense to set it up exactly like FS/T is setup? Instead of making a list..then, oh you traded that game or sold it...so now you go back to your original post (2months ago) and update it...well how are people supposed to find games? Do they look for posts from 6 months ago and just hope that people updated there original post? It doesn't make sense to me to create a small list and then when you need to update, you dig through the forum, find your post and edit.
I mean, if this were an ok format why wouldn't the FS/T thread be setup like that as well? It's not..its setup with individual threads rather than just a ton of postings.

Exactly...that goozex is setup the way I would prefer AT to set theres up (well, for the most part).

Another good one is DVDTalk forum, they have a game trading section and movie trading section.

FYI...this is a CONSOLE gaming forum section...so no pc games should be in it.

I'm not asking to break it down into categories...only FS/T is dedicated to pc games/hardware/electronics.

Console gaming dedicated to all consoles (nes/snes/ps/xbox/etc.) and instead of having a forum that has posting with 'I have these games' rather have a forum topic created (like FS/T) so that you can create a thread, list your games you want to trade/sale and be done. Makes for TONS easier searching, tons easier management (since you have actual individual threads rather than a posting of a list?)

I'm just throwing my view out there, you definitely don't have to accept it, it seems as though people are against this although I don't understand why...everyone is perfectly happy w/ the FS/T thread so why not setup the console gaming section the same way?

Maybe I should be asking why you DON'T want it to be setup that way...why do we prefer the 'posted list' rather than a thread? Do you think FS/T should be setup that way as well? List out all of the hardware you have...it never gets bumped up to the top (b/c its just a posting) and edit/update when items are sold...

Looking for Halo 3? Use the Search feature to search the FS/FT forums for the term "Halo 3"

No hard feelings bud. It won't work though. There are thousands of gamers on this site and it still won't be *active* enough. You will hear crickets chirping. It's not even worth setting up IMO. It's a very specific thing you are asking for (albeit not as ridiculous as the examples I gave). The exchange thread is essentially dead. And a "console only" FS/FT forum that doesn't even include PC will have like 8 posts in it. You ever go to dead forums now and again? That's what we would have. You'd have a handful (dozen?) of guys who would try it. But then when they don't sell anything, there's no activity like bumps, sales, and Pm's anyway if it's not active enough.

Alright...if you think it wouldn't work then I guess there's not use in keeping this thread open. I was hoping to try it but apparently no-one wants it.

Thanks for all the comments/votes!
