Is this card capable of playing back an 8 bit mono 11 kHz file and recording a 16 bit 44.1 kHz file at the same time? This is under Windows 2000 Professional. I'm playing back a low quality 8 bit clip with WMP and using Sound Forge 5.0 to record it as a 16 bit 44.1 kHz stereo file to put it on a cd. Re sampling sounds too dirty. Trying this causes the computer to crash hard (BSOD). The file was ctwand. something. I tried this with a SB Live! and it works ok.

Cheers!

Sorry it took so long, got a phone call... :)

Anyways, it works fine for me. Playing back an 8bit mono 11kHz file with WMP 6.4, recording to 16bit 41kHz stereo or mono with Sound Forge 5.0 in win2k pro.

I'm going to have to try this again.

What drivers are you using? When I start the recording session in SF the audio stops. If I stop recording I can hear the file playing again. If I leave it recording for more than five seconds or so the system crashes. I have the same STOP error when running NOLF tech demo as well.

Interesting night tonight. I'm using a shell account to access this because a freak thunderstorm wiped out my cable connection. I was standing on my front porch talking to my wife and a bolt of lightning struck and the first thing I noticed was the wires on the pole were popping like firecrackers! The power went off but all the computers were still on because of the ups. Cable signal is dead. :( A nice spike came down the lines for sure.

Cheers!

My bad. It works fine for me. I put the GTXP back in and restored my Ghost image. The "problem" turned out to be my fault. I was trying to record 24 bit 192 kHz. :Q

Cheers!
