game recommendation

just build a new system (3200+, 1 GB RAM, 6600GT, 19 in LCD) and have not bought a new computer game since Diablo II first hit the shelves. Any recommendations or must haves? I'd like something to play online, but don't really want to have to pay to play online.

people seem to like Rise of Nations a lot. kind of like AOE i hear

if you like more action oriented stuff, try C&C generals (also the expansion: zero hour)

and another game similar to C&C generals is: Act of War

Well, if RTS is your favorite genre, then you might check out Warcraft 3, Rise of Nations, and Age of Mythology.

Age of Mythology is probably the closest thing to AOE2, but it's set in Greek times with mythology heroes. Rise of Nations is also very similar to AOE2 and is very deep in gameplay.

If non-fastasy strategy games is your thing, then you'd probably enjoy RON the most.

I'm pretty sure both AOM and RON have demos you can download, so definately check those out.

Empire Earth II
Age of Empires III (when it's released)

I ran out of content in less than a week with that game, fun while it lasted
