I believe we are heading into the worst hyperinflation we have ever seen in a society. This 700 billion dollar bailout plan will just be the match that starts the fire.

Did you guys see Bush's face... it looked grim during the financial disaster speech. Imagine how bad it really is if the government is already admitting to a major economic disasater. Guys prepare for the worst... If this bill passes we are going into hyperinflation.

Once this bill passes, I gurantee people will start hoarding gold, guns, ammo, any hard asset they can run off with. China will soon then dump their massive T-Bill reserves. Japan and South Korea will soon follow afterword to get out before the door hits them. This dumping of T-Bills will further intensify the hyperinflation. Soon after this we can expect millions of people starving, rioting in the streets, and marshall law. If you dont think this can happen dont kid yourself because look how fast this economic disaster has materialized.

why?

This economy has been ran on deception and lies for the past 30 years. A big part of this is controlling the masses behavior to believe in the system and a paper currency to keep the wheel turning round. The USD is backed by the full faith in the government nothing more... How many of you have faith in the government? Once the lost of faith in the currency is realized in a good portion of the population we will have a cascading effect of panic.

Since the USD is the worlds currency reserve it will more then likely will be triggered abroad by foriegn countries dumping massive amounts of T-Bills. A race of who can get the most solid assets before the USD becomes worthless will then ensue after.

This bill and the +700 billion following it, will be the straw that broke the camels back. We have been running up debt and printing money out of thin air for far to long.

The best thing to do is stock up on arms and ammo.

I'm glad I already did before my dollar became worthless. I hope the rest of you did too.

Inflation is going to increase, but it's not going to be like zimbabwe. Also, remember that China and others that have USD assets do not want to see those vanish up, so the idea that China would run away with anything is not realistic. I'd say that inflation, especially once this $700B turns into a couple trillion, will be brisk but not as bad as it has been in history, but that's just a guess.

How many post-nuke zombies do you really think you can get before you get you first?

No... most people will not suspect anything is wrong until it has hit them personally this is understandable. I suggest if you want to prepare yourself to do so now. Those who have blantant trust and security with the government and the system as it is now will suffer the most if this does materialize. The economic system has a good deal of lag time before it starts to work its way down the chain. So I dont forsee things getting very bad until after this holiday season.

I plan to barter most of it if the system indeed fails.

Im going to continue to go about my normal activities and enjoy life. I am already prepared for any major hardships that can come. Im just trying to warn friends and family and anyone who can listen to at the very least have some extra food and water supplies stocked at home. I have a nice fruit/vegetable garden that I maintain as a hobby.

If the worst cast scenerio happens im going to be ready for it more so then the average person. If nothing happens its good for all of us and I will continue to go about enjoying my GF, friends, and gaming :).

What in the world does China have to gain by further devaluing the currency of their biggest customer? It is in China's best interest for the US to have as much buying power as possible. Not that we are in a good position or anything, I just don't see China (nor Japan or S. Korea) shooting themselves in the foot anytime soon.

China already warned us it was going to dump if we didnt bail out Freddie and Fanny. There has been talk going around that China wants to start its own pan Asian currency like the Euro but for Asia. China has very little to loose if they dump and cut the relationship off with the U.S. they have enough domestic demand and many other countries that they could do business with. China can also dictate economic policy or social policy on the fly.

Don't fool yourself guys these countries are ready to dump at the twitch of a finger.

I'm thinking something more akin to stagflation due to speculation in energy markets, health care costs increasing at twice the rate of inflation, export of manufacturing jobs/expansion of low-paying McJobs, huge leap in the money supply, increased taxes to pay interest and retire Federal debt, wacky commodity prices, and the devaluation of the dollar.

The only remaining kicker is regulation - which must come hard and fast. The key will be the balance between regulation and over-regulation.
