DOH! left the TV room to come on here during halftime...now my roommate is watching something...hopefully she will finish soon though

TOUCHDOWN!!!

EDIT: WV just scored, tie game with Miami again! If Miami goes down today, ND is a LOCK on the Rose Bowl.

Been a ND fan since I was 6, 11 years later it feels good to see them winning again.

For a Notre Dame fan this is the best days since '93 when the Irish beat a supposedly unbeatable #1 Florida State team led by Charlie Ward, only to lose the very next week to unranked Boston College and see
all hopes for an Irish title dashed.

Tyrone Willingham straight after the game reminded his team of ND history of letdowns in games after huge wins. He won't let it happen this year.
Tyrone FOR GOD! They should replace Touchdown Jesus with Touchdown Tyrone!

Argg! I remember that year clearly. Looked to be a definate unbeaten season and then watching BC beat them I just about cried.

lol thats okay man I think I cried enough for both of us. 🙂

Do you remember the Orange Bowl against Colorado in the early 90s where the game winning punt return by Rocket Ismail was called back on a clipping penalty? I cried then too.

Notre Dame football has always been my most beloved sports team. I read a book on Knute Rockne when I was like 6 for gods sake. 🙂
Oh, and if you need more proof of my ND psychosis, I consider Lou Holtz to be my adopted pretend grandfather that I never had.

Woohoo! Before this game, there was a feeling that if the Irish met an elite team they would be overmatched. But give Willingham credit for having the players ready to capitalize on FSU's mistakes in a big time game. Now I believe the Irish can match up with anyone in the nation and have a solid shot of winning. Tyrone has made a stunning change to this program from where Bob Davie left off.

Yeah I remember that game too. I was shouting up and down when Rocket ran into the endzone, only to be paralized from the neck down when it was called back. The BC game after the FSU game was the second hardest loss to take.
