Game Jackal

Has anyone tried Game Jackal? It lets you play games without having the cd in the drive. You do however need the original cd to make the profile the first time which lets you do this. Just downloaded it and it works for all the games I'm playing (FEAR, Quake4, Civ4. BF2) and am thinking it is pretty nice. There's a 30 day trial but just the fact that it worked for those 4 games alone made it worth the $10 for me. Has anyone else tried it?

Does it work on DVDs? I only buy games on DVD these days, after the fiasco that was UT2k4 and the 6 fvcking disks.

The profiles seem to take very little space. I've made one for Quake4 (DVD), FEAR (DVD), Civ4 (CD), and BF2 (DVD) and the total space taken is 11MB. The only downside is Game Jackal needs to be running, but it has a fairly low overhead. It also helps with startup times.

The space is minimal because all they are doing is watching what data is transferred between the game and the cd/dvd when it is authenticating then responding back with that data. Yes it works for DVD's (Im using it with Quake 4 DVd version). It currently has problems with SecureRom games but they are working on that.
