This is just a random question, but are there any good game developers (game companies, whatever they're called) in Seattle?
 
Yes, Bellevue and Redmond (duh!) and Seattle. Both Windows and "casual"/online (Flash & java).

I don't keep track of the companies since I'll be working at my current job for at least another year or two, and am not sure I want to go into game development or not.

Most game companies overwork and underpay their employees, and many are underfunded to the point where they are one publisher check away from shutting down.
