Why didn't Warren run last time? Why now when he amassed the following? I said prior I thought so too after the heart attack, but it's his choice to stay in, and I didn't know how major it was. Now that he's been ahead of Warren, why don't you say the same about Warren dropping out? If you want to blame anyone for the bad process for selecting out of more than 2 candidates, blame the Democratic leadership. They could have changed this decades ago.

Hillary lost because of Hillary. A lot of us didn't want her to even run because of the controversy surrounding her. But nope, she had to be queen!

Gawd. The only controversies surrounding her were propaganda constructs of the right wing. They put the Willie Horton & swift liars attacks to shame.

I'm saying he should've let Warren take the lead because she doesn't have a cult of personality that will torpedo the nominee if it isn't her.

The Bernie or bust crowd is just a different flavor of mindlessness, like Trumpsters. If Bernie is to be trusted, why didn't they do like Bernie said & vote for Clinton? It looks like a form of concern trolling more than anything else. Here we are with the worst possible outcome & they still believe their own bullshit.

I'm willing to accept that some of the Bernie or Bust people had foolishly deluded themselves into thinking Clinton and Trump weren't different enough in 2016. This was of course ludicrous, but sometimes people believe ludicrous things. I thought the same thing in 2000 about Gore and Bush. The difference is I learned my lesson. If after four years of Trump any of these Bernie Bros are still saying they won't vote for the Democratic nominee they are either concern trolls as you say or insane.

Or not real (assuming online). I've yet to meet an actual 'bernie bro' in person.

Ah, ok. However, if Bernie leaves the race, Warren will still get a lot of "Bernie Bros". Others are not immune to the negative effects of a contested convention. I mean, you guys seem to argue Bernie took ~1% away from Hillary just for continuing in a race that had already been essentially decided early on.

So? She was easier to attack because of all the baggage.

How many times does it have to be repeated that more Sanders supporters voted for Clinton than Clinton voters voted for Obama?

Yeah he's got a decent shot. If it comes down to Sanders vs Buttigieg I'll take the former. Bernie can actually garner some of the non-white vote and I won't have to be subjected to the less than subtle ways Trump will call Mayor Pete a f*ggot for the rest of the year.

I like Buttigieg better than Biden, but sadly him being gay might cost him as a roadblock with some of the demographic. Though he has other pluses like being former military.

Vote by mail is the answer. Republicans get the drizzling shits over it.
I agree, but no Republican will even consider allowing it where they can block it. GOP power depends on voter disenfranchisement. They want only the most fanatical voting, because they have spend decades making their followers fanatics.

71% of the vote is in.
TWO DAYS LATER and still at 71% ???
iOwa not only deserves to lose their first place status, iOwa deserves to be nuked off the map.
Putin, if you're listening, PRETTY PLEASE!

Or where Republicans are in charge. They seem to work hard at making voting take as long as possible. Where I live the average wait time to vote is over an hour.

An hour sucks. No reason voting should take that much effort other than incompetence or refusal to invest in democracy. I know it happens tho.

Fortunately most places I've lived (red or blue) I've only had to wait a few mins other than the big potus elections. Even the midterms i walked in and out in less than 15 minutes on the way to work (and turn out was strong relatively.)

CO has a good mail in ballot system which is also a good alternative.

^^^This, damn it, all of this!

It's just a fact though that since the US is a flawed democracy, the platform won't be as liberal as some other countries.

Once Lyin' Donnie and the Repub/Faux News Smear and Fear machine got done with this JEWISH COMMUNIST LEFTIST ELITIST, he'd be toast and anathema with that broad spectrum of the "low information" American electorate that simply outnumbers us "woke" folks.

I don't buy it. They say everything is communist and socialist, even Hillary and Obama. Liberal voters supporting the other candidates claim they'll back whoever the nominee is. Bernie has had a few years since 2016 for people to better know him as a democratic socialist. If he gets the nomination, that's likely a sign those attacks won't be that effective.

I like that Boots did really well in rural areas, and did well in both young and older votes, whereas Biden only performed well in older voters, whom Sanders lost badly.

Neither demo will totally like him as the compromise, but he'd be far less polarizing than either of the other two.

Also with Boots, he's the only one I've heard openly proposing expanding and reforming the SCOTUS, plus putting statehood for DC and PR on the table.

Both these items are needed to break the undemocratic R stranglehold on the SC and Senate.

I'm sorry, I don't believe that for a second when it comes to the independents and centrists that Ds need to win. Esp with an incumbent pres riding a rocking economy.

Radical economic reforms and lots of new taxes will scare the shit out of the suburbs.

Bernie simply did not show an energized base would turnout for him Iowa. He did well, but numbers were are 2016 levels.
A high base turnout strategy doesn't look viable.

On the evidence of this thread some of you dislike each other more than you do Trump. I hope AT is not representative of the US electorate as a whole.

Anyone saying they won't vote Democrat unless it's Sanders is just nuts, but the hate being spat at him by centrists is just as crazy, IMO. I keep biting my tongue because on this topic (internal disputes of the liberals and left) above all I would find it hard to disagree with a response that's it's none of my buseiness as a non-US-citizen. But the infighting is distressing to witness, especially when global issues like climate change are at stake.

As far as I'm concerned the back and forth that was had between myself and @ivwshane was pleasant, he and I agree on things much more than we disagree. Sometimes people like us need to have a spat with a like-minded person just to blow off some steam.

lol It's not really "rocking". Not bad but not great either. I think economy is a little overrated now with the polarization we have.

Radical economic reforms and lots of new taxes will scare the shit out of the suburbs.

So why do you guys bitch about Bernie Bros who refuse to back the nominee? I've seen this a lot where they think the more moderate liberals will defect even worse.

So who? Warren isn't doing as well as Bernie, and Biden face-planted.

All those accusations have been proven false...move along or post a link backing up your nonsense...

We are talking about a state election and the shady shit that the guy who was responsible for elections pulled while also being on the ballot for governor. I don't remember all the details and am too lazy to search for it again.

Edit: @dank69 you damn ninja, you killed 10 of my guards before anyone noticed you.

Weren't they caught messing with mail in votes too?

Not here. There was some 2018 GOP skullduggery in N Carolina. They totally lost it after Obama won their state in 2008 & have gone balls to the walls to stop something like that from ever happening again.

What will be interesting is if the Dems can't trash Bernie and he wins the nomination. Then those who can't stand him will instantly act as if they always have loved him, or they can vote for Trump.

Tough day for me.

The Bros are on fire about Iowa and the app because Hillary and my deplorable friends are on fire about Nancy ripping up the Presidents paper.
So much concern today.
Ugh
