Game Day Thread: Iowa Caucuses

HERE is the problem with iOwa....

1. LOCKED OUT.
The caucus system deprives thousands possibly millions of iOwa citizenry of taking part and having a voice. Since the caucus is from 7pm CST to 8 - 9 pm CST, if you work evenings you are screwed. All of those Walmart clerks working the registers on the evening shifts are locked out. All of those police on the streets, firemen, janitors, paramedic, hospital workers, and on and on who typically work evenings are all locked out. They have no voice and NO ALLOWANCE has been made for their voice to be heard. NONE!!!

2. As we can see tonight in real time, iOwa can't even get their frickin act together. While the cluster F**K's and circle jerk's have all officially ended and the people have went home to take a shower, no numbers are coming in. NO ONE KNOWS what the hell has happened or what the hell is going on. If there were a god iOwa would be reassigned into LAST PLACE and never first place. See America.... iOwa really is a shit-hole of a state. I-diots O-ut W-alking A-round. So so SOOOOO very true.

3. As already stated, who the hell really cares about iOwa? The system is an insult to the candidates, a total waste of their money, and this obsession with the networks broadcasting from JAVA JOE'S is insulting in itself. JAVA JOE'S is a teeny tiny nothing of a coffee shop located in downtown Des Moines in the warehouse district and about as big inside as your typical residential bathroom. Besides.... their coffee really sucks.
The place is a tomb 51 weeks out the the year until this one week comes along every four years. What a joke(er).

The caucus system "might" have been plausible back between 1776 to 1876, but in todays world it is a mess of a system locking out a majority of voters, and the results basically amounting to a huge nothing.
Mike Bloomberg is looking better and better, at least Mr Bloomberg had the smarts to skip iOwa completely.

Iowa and New Hampshire are lily white. They don't reflect America or Democrats and don't matter. Nevada is the first state that really matters.

The good ole US of A is still pretty lilly white (63% of the population as of 2013 numbers are non-hispanic white), and Iowa is a big farming/rural state. I can see the logic of sending your primary field through arguably the most "hostile" culling process to get a candidate that has appeal outside the core of the party. Dems were also the blue collar guys before the party ran into the blue collar working class/college educated white collar ideological split.

If you put California or the New England states first, you get a candidate that is at greater odds of losing the swing states by potentially being too far in an ideological corner. Its not like the moderates that come out of Iowa are going to somehow loose the EC votes in blue states anyhow.

Just another shitty function of our entire electoral process, but hey I can at least see the potential logic of it.

Just checking in to see if the Bros had any theory’s
leaving now and I’m not disappointed

y’all realize a former Hillary worker does have the ability to work elsewhere right?
y’all realize you sound like the President with his “He’s a Mexican Judge or he voted for Democrat.

The Bernie Bros can't lose!

If someone other than Bernie wins, the DNC obviously rigged the vote.
If Bernie does win, the 'delay' was obviously done by the DNC to tarnish his win.
Can't just be incompetence, nope.

I like Bernie, but goddamn his hardcore fans are paranoid.

RIGGED

The matter of What To Do About Bernie and the larger imperative of party unity has, for example, hovered over a series of previously undisclosed Democratic dinners in New York and Washington organized by the longtime party financier Bernard Schwartz. The gatherings have included scores from the moderate or center-left wing of the party, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California

Democrats clutching pearls over Sander's "momentum" = RIGGED?

Not to worry, you won't claim it was rigged, if he wins, right?

Interesting how you throw that word around. Reminds me of another certain bloc of voters and pols in this country.

You mean the ones that won the last presidential election?

Again why do people care about Iowa caucuses?

Isn't it obvious?
