Game crash/monitor lost signal while playing borderlands 2 just now

So I was in the middle of a borderlands 2 session, lots of enemies on screen etc and all of a sudden my screen goes black and it says no dvi signal. At this point there is no sound or anything. I check the connection in the back of my monitor and it is secure, then I control alt delete and task manager comes up no problems.

So then I try to maximize borderlands 2 again and the same thing happens. It just hangs and my screen is black, however I can hear borderlands 2 menu music playing. I forcibly stopped the borderlands 2 process in task manager. Started the game back up again and played for another half hour with no additional issues. This has never happened to me before, strange. Could it have just been a game crash? I'm hoping it isnt hardware related. Maybe a powersupply issue? I didn't have afterburner running at the time but the highest my temps have gotten in borderlands 2 was 57c no overclock on the card.

I have never had a crash to black screen in the game, but I do have problems occasionally when alt/tabbing out of the game and then trying to get back into it. Sometimes it just will not come back from being minimized, and sometimes it runs at a slideshow kind of framerate and I have to exit and restart the game.

My screen goes black when I minimize then proceed to maximize my STEAM games and Crysis 3, But I never lose connection.

It's odd it happens, and I never figured out why, but my other monitors still work.

I always end up having to ctrl+alt+del and force close and reopen it. Seems more like the games problem imo.

I guess its possible that I could have hit the windows key on accident, I was in the middle of a heated fire fight
