Game controller problem

Hi I have a problem with the Microsoft Sidewinder Game Pad Pro.

The main 2 games I play with it are Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2, and Mobil 1 Rally Championship.

I also have on my system a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro Joystick (which I use for games like Microsoft Flight Sim, etc etc..). Both are USB. The problem occurs when they are both plugged into the USB ports on my A-Bit BE-6 motherboard.

Without the Joystick plugged in, the games work fine, and the Game Pad functions as it should.

The problem is that with the Joystick plugged in, the Gamepad no longer functions in those games. However if I go to Windows Control Panel > Game Controllers, it perfectly lists both devices, and recognises them as OK. And the Test function from within there shows all buttons working properly.

So my question is this really: Why would the Joystick stop the Gamepad working, but only when running games (not when testing it in Windows Game Controller setup)...

I am running Windows ME for this, I have all the latest Sidewinder software and drivers for the Gamepad installed with the little system tray applet and everything... For the Joystick I am using standard Windows drivers.

I did have my Intellimouse Explorer plugged into one of the USB port and had to constantly switch between Joystick and Gamepad depending which one I wanted (3 USB devices - only 2 ports!), and it only recently occurred to me to use the USB->PS/2 adapter on my mouse and use the PS/2 Mouse port on my PC, thus freeing up the other USB port so I wouldn't have to constantly swap them all the time.

HELP!!!!! 🙂)

Ive always run into the problem of having 2 joysticks hooked up to my system at once -USB or through the joystick port
