No, this poll merely shows that there is no leader now, something everyone has known for some time.

That's one interpretation of the numbers. An equally valid interpretation is that equal numbers of Republicans think Limbaugh is as big a voice of the party as Cheney and Newt. Which goes a long way to make all these claims that only liberal wackjobs think Rush is a leader in the Rep party.

He ties the former Speaker and VP, and has elected leaders apologizing to him. If there's a delusional liberal and media fantasy that Rush is at the top of the Rep party it's shared by republicans.

There was a P&N thread asking who was the leader of the GOP (and you couldn't answer with "limbaugh"). Well there you have it. Limbaugh leads with all respondents and he even ties as #1 (with Gingrich) among republican leaners. So you can't discount Limbaugh.

It's going to be a challenge for the GOP to shed it's image as the party of old white guys when even the GOP thinks it's the party of old white guys (old white guys who are extremely divisive and unpopular to boot).

[golf clap]

"No one" scored the highest BTW. So, either you didn't look at the poll you linked, or you're being purposefully misleading.

Considering out of 53% who picked someone, he was at 10% (tied with Gingrich), that's pretty good.

I was just pointing out how stupid it was to discount Limbaugh as another thread starter had done.

Also, look at the title of my OP:

"Limbaugh, Gingrich, and Cheney speaks for GOP (even republicans agree)"

And if they had each gotten 1% of the vote that would still be true. Your "interpretation" is meaningless.

I wouldn't be too hard on him. He's just exercising his authoritarian tendencies. I imagine a lot here can relate.

There is a larger majority of Republican conservatives that realize that things have to change.

Much depends on how such polls are written.

That "larger majority" brought us the compassionate conservatives of Bush and McCain. Seems like they really know how to piss on conservative values, which I'm sure Obama voters here wouldn't mind one bit if the "larger majority" continued to do so.

And if my grandmother had balls she'd be my grandfather.

I agree...if they each got 1% it'd be meaningless. But they didn't. They each got 10%. That's a significant number for "just a radio host" to share with a former VP and Speaker.

I agree with Letterman, Palin definitely has that slutty Flight Attendant look going on.
