No, this poll merely shows that there is no leader now, something everyone has known for some time.

There was a P&N thread asking who was the leader of the GOP (and you couldn't answer with "limbaugh"). Well there you have it. Limbaugh leads with all respondents and he even ties as #1 (with Gingrich) among republican leaners. So you can't discount Limbaugh.
It's going to be a challenge for the GOP to shed it's image as the party of old white guys when even the GOP thinks it's the party of old white guys (old white guys who are extremely divisive and unpopular to boot).

"No one" scored the highest BTW. So, either you didn't look at the poll you linked, or you're being purposefully misleading.

That's one interpretation of the numbers. An equally valid interpretation is that equal numbers of Republicans think Limbaugh is as big a voice of the party as Cheney and Newt. Which goes a long way to make all these claims that only liberal wackjobs think Rush is a leader in the Rep party.
I wouldn't be too hard on him. He's just exercising his authoritarian tendencies. I imagine a lot here can relate.Originally posted by: JS80

There is a small group of diehards/neo-cons as people like to call them that will followsuch trash all over.
There is a larger majority of Republican conservatives that realize that things have to change.
Much depends on how such polls are written.

And if they had each gotten 1% of the vote that would still be true. Your "interpretation" is meaningless.
