Money is the root of all evil.

You need to read that scripture again, because it doesn't quite say what you claim it does. :\ Coveting wealth is what was said to be sinful, seeking to take what isn't yours.

1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

It is in the nature of people who hate themselves that they create false egos to make themselves look good. Such folk create religions that equate having wealth with God's blessings.

Deuteronomy 15:10
Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.

Proverbs 3:9-10
Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.

Not all wealth is righteously gained, to say the least, but when it is cheerfully and charitably given, it's a blessing to the receiver and the giver.

Democrats are more compassionate when giving away other people's money...
... to super-wealthy politicians and their mega-rich cronies who then turn it into massive debt to be dumped on common citizens.

The very height of "compassionate" in leftworld.

Forced wealth redistribution isn't only unethical, it's also sinful. As outlined above.

Thank you but you misunderstood what I said. I didn't say that money is the root of all evil. I said that then I said something completely contradictory and then I went on to explain that it's not money that is good or evil but the coveting of it. But it was nice of you to repeat in your own way what I said.

It seems that a lot of people go ready fire aim when they see Moonbeam's name. I'm used to it.

Oh, does it go on say that it's OK for Christians to be rich?

It doesnt say anything about it at all. If you had read Matthew you would see examples of "Once i do what i want then ill follow you". That wasn't good enough. In the case of the rich young man hadattempted to justify his worth by demonstrating how godly he was. Jesus then picked that which the rich man valued most and to give it up. He could not. Wealth is hard to give up and as there were those who possessed it a cry went out from the disciples. Who can be saved? The reply was that for God nothing is impossible. There was no general call to divest oneself of all money, but money cannot be the thing one values most.

Since you often contradict yourself in the same threads, and even in the same posts, it's no surprise that anyone would fail to see that you were trying to convey irony.

Speaking of egos... and irony.

M: Actually, the meaning was obvious, it's just that you're not very bright.

MM: Speaking of egos... and irony.

M: Actually it was just fact, but then in addition to not being very bright you have a need to be an asshole.

We know how you think, and what you think:

The Supreme Coup theft of the Presidency from Gore was the greatest catastrophe that ever hit the nation. The Republican party is full of fucking traitors who stomped all over the will of the people of Florida and continue to do the same today. Worthless fucking traitorous scum. Not that it makes Democrats great, but hey, they are the preference of the majority of people. That's supposed to be sacred in a democracy. But we are chock full of Republican Nazi scum, not to put too fine a point on it. It's not their fault. Their brain defect makes them the assholes they are. I really wouldn't care that much if their blithering imbecility didn't fuck over most of the people. And the little prideful pricks won't admit to anything. Somebody's got to have the regrettable job of having to tell them because they will never see it themselves. :)

You're a little wind-up toy of hate and hypocrisy, all tightly wrapped in a blanket of ego to keep it all fresh and warm. No one on this forum compares to you when it comes to being an abusive asshole, Loonbeam.

I wonder as well if Moonbeam learned that we live in a republic and not a democracy since his bitchy little rant back then.
