Gallery software with optional password protection?

I am currently using Coppermine Photo Gallery, and so far it gets the job done. Buuuuuut, I have some pics from New Years Eve that I want to share with a select few, but can't share with others. Theres a ton of pics so I can't email everyone all of them, so some sort of gallery software would be best, but is there something that lets you optionally password protect certain folders or something? Is there some better gallery software? I've used Gallery before and liked coppermine better, and I think I tried that 4images before but didn't like it as well, either. Am I missing something? Thanks!

I do know of the private galleries / groups. But I have to give permission of a user to those. I could make a special group or user with just access to that gallerie, and then pass around the login and password for that user, but that seems like a bit of a kludge. If there was an option where I could just set a certain gallery to require a password, that'd be great. Is there any other gallery software out there that might do this?
