I thought it would be a little faster than that. Anyway, I think the needle was lower than horizontal judging by the video.

I've been to 140mph on the freeway in my old Mustang GT.

It looks like the Gallardo had at least a half second jump.

supposedly the Gallardo was modded, and you can tell the Z06 started in 2nd, but 1st would have spanked the crap out of the Gallardo.

The Z06 is modded as well. Look at the tail pipe.

If you look closely, there are only two tailpipes. That means to me that he must have an aftermarket exhaust and maybe some other mods to it. But at least we know its an aftermarket exhaust.

Sounds like bad shiftings on the gallardo's drivers part killed it for them. Perhaps it would be a little better with an egear trans.
