So then what do yo think about SOTS 2 with all current patches?

I think the game was so horribly buggy at launch, they lost me way back then. But that article seems to sum it up nicely:

No. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth it in the end. I mean, to endure the pain of learning how to play this game to finally start to have a few glimpses of fun from time to time. But, to ultimately realize that (at the moment) it doesn’t mean much in the end because the AI isn’t much of a challenge in any case.

For me a strategy game either had to have a good AI or good multiplayer to keep me playing it. SOTS2 had neither back when I tried it. I have no incentive to go back to it as there's other good strategy games to play. GC3's AI isn't perfect but it is good and getting even better.

Edit: SOTS2 is over 3 years old now. How long are you giving them to make it good? Your post is worded like something I would expect to see in the first weeks after launch, maybe a couple of months. Not over 3 year later.

They stopped working on SOTS2 a year and a half ago.

I was able to convince Kerberos to release a patch about 6+ months ago to fix a bug where the AI would never attack you. Worked in single player, but not multiplayer. So I had to scrap the game as I played it online only. I picked up GC3 to play with a friend of mine instead.

GC3 is almost equally as buggy. :( Waiting for them to support the product and fix the countless issues. I've reported 30+ bugs during beta with multiplayer, and so far they've fixed a handful.
