Can you say... N F C

Priceless 😎

''we gonna get that, for sure.. may not this time, but next time... right''

Again, give the trolling a rest. 2 full generations behind, yet nothing is faster. And of course, newer phones will be faster then the next iphone will be faster than those, rinse and repeat.

Ok bud

Lte is a year old on android
Quad core a9s beat the 4s and a gs3 came out well before the iphone 5 with an a15 chipset and the htc one x was out 3 months before the gs3 with its s4 chipset.

You have the rinse and repeat right but its android hardware the apple hardware catching up.

I keep correcting mx85 and im troll lol and all androids have shitty battery life but the second someone tries to say something they become fan boys and trolls.last time I checked this was a gs3 vs iphone thread

The optomus g is coming out this month with a s4 pro that will wipe the floor with the iphone 5 yet you believe apple is the one leading the hardware lol

So does Iphone 4S and it's not even an LTE phone.

Are we talking about the 4S or 5? The 4S didn't have shitty battery life anyway. Are you saying its as bad as the EVO?

-Lte is a year old with shitty battery life
-Have you seen the subspider benchmarks?
-SGS3 is nothing like an A15
-HTC One X is slower than iPhone 5
-OptimusG isn't out yet and last I checked this is a SGS3/iPhone5 thread

Troll.

1-I got the same if not better battery life with my galaxy nexus as my bro did with his iphone 4s,Its sad how all of a sudden apple has 4g and only now does it get wonderfull battey life :whiste:

2.Have you seen jelly bean benchmarks? and why are you so obsessed with a java web script benchmark? it only benching how well your browswer and os is optimised for java.I just ran it on my nexus and scored 1200ms running official jellybean off google servers....so if a java bench is what you think is a way of showing off performance just wait untill an official jellybean bench is run with an updated chrome browser with added customisations.

3.actually the galaxy s3 is just as much an a15 as the a6 chip and didnt samsung build the a6 chip for apple?I could be wrong but they built the a5 for them so im asuming the 4billion dollar fab that samsung made was for building apples a6 chipsets.

4 htc one x is not slower than an iphone 5,its using the same hardware and you are stuck in a javascript benchmark that means nothing for actual phone performance, why dont you run a flash benchmark while your at it.

5 optomus was brought up because of the fact that someone said apple leads and then android follows, the optomus is coming out in less than 2 weeks and has been shown off for months now.

so lets see who is the one that is innovative

4g Android first
bigger screen Android first
dual cores Android first
quad cores Android first(nothing yet from apple)
A15 cores Android first
quad a15 based cores Android first
NFC android first
8mega pixel android first
led flash android first

who exaclty is leading again lol

here is your wonderfull sun bench done on a year old nexus running official jelly bean and a dual core a9 chipset.I gained 800ms over ics and what the heck do you think will happen once the a15 cells get an offciall jellybean update to there times?

Ouch, the low blows from Samsung continue:

http://youtu.be/nf5-Prx19ZM

ROFL - But the add is still taking like the phone matters. What it doesnt say is that for most Apple fans the phone itself is just something remotely interesting compared to what the brand does:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdIWKytq_q4

What can the competition do then?

Now have a second look if you write iphone 5 on youtube. Many of the first links is speculation about the ip5. You know the ones wiht no bezell and lots of fancy features. No of those speculation became reality. And then there is this link among the other links. Amazing.

If you favor a 4 screen, and like os, the ip5 is obvious and a solid choice. I think its about how big a screen you need-like. Holding them in hand and using them is the only sound way to judge it. If you dont need a 4.8 screen, and is okey with a screen not nearly so sharp, i would also try s2. Its a fast and proven very solid phone and now very cheap.

I had iPhone 3gs and 4 before. Now i'm on GS2. iOS, to me, just feels dumbed-down compared to JB that I'm running now. Android gives me a lot more freedom to customize and set the phone upto the way I want it. iOS feels restrictive, even more so after discovering XDA forums. To the poster that says the iOS notification bar can duplicate widgets on the Android.. Give me a break.

The hardware specs on the iPhone 5 aren't that impressive to me compared to SGS3 (I'm waiting for the next Nexus phone). However, I'm sure it'll be of quality like most Apple products (minus the home button on the iPhones). Apple just works - gotta give them props for that.

It's not about specs. It's about how you use it. Yeah Android got there first, but in most cases, Apple's implementation is better.

These Samsung ads are "interesting". For this to work, all your friends would have to have an GSIII which is not outside the realm of possibility, but also not very likely. Apple is all about the ecosystem. You don't need to get the latest and greatest to get features that work across all devices. Yes you'll probably say something about how the 4 does not have Flyover or does not have this or that, but the features that work across all devices for syncing (like iCloud) work for all devices.

The EVO had WiMAX (not lte) and the battery life of 2min. The iPhone 5 is fast and sips battery power.

The SGS3 has an awesome camera? Uh...so does the iPhone 5.

True somewhat.

The EVO has WiMAX but is still 4G and still in use and will go all day on a stock battery. I can get over 2 days with the extended battery as well. In addition, with it being rooted, I can choose a variety of different roms and unlock tethering. With Apple, you can JB the phone, still stuck with the original OS, and have to pay for a tethering app.

The iPhone5 will have 8hrs of straight LTE usage. This is another level of battery life over LTE.

1. I'm sure you did, but this review says otherwise.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/5310/samsung-galaxy-nexus-ice-cream-sandwich-review/14

Hmm, look at that, battery life way below the 4S. Galaxy Nexus 4G battery life? Under 4 hours. The iPhone 5 will have 8hrs of LTE buddy. Apple is one of the first to get the newest LTE chip, its not an "all of a sudden Apple" thing.

2. You don't browse the web? Just about every website uses JS.

3. Neither are A15, period. Not sure why you even brought up the SGS3 using an A15 chipset (doesn't make sense). Also, Samsung fabricated the A6, they didn't engineer it, Apple did. All Samsung did was follow instructions that Apple engineered.

4. Why don't you delete your mobile browser if its not important to you. Go ahead and tell adobe to not kill off Flash while you're at it. If you're worried about actual phone performance then you're using the wrong device.

5. The optimus g isn't out yet.

Lol, I don't think you know what innovation means.

Not true. A few developer friends from upstairs learned I had the GS3 and came down to check it out. One had the new google phone and the other had an SGS2? At any rate, they had NFC and sent me links using NFC via the Play Store. I keep my music, contacts, network info, and docs in the google cloud as well, it just plain works.

Nope. I gave my son my sgs2 when I got the 3 and we use NFC all the time. And as for the 4 not having 3d flyby thats apple being an ass as usual because I already enabled it via a hack on my bathroom-use-only ip4.

The iPhone5 will have 8hrs of straight LTE usage. This is another level of battery life over LTE.

I'm not quite sure what you are saying, please explain. You are saying the Iphone 5 will not only have 8 hours of LTE talk time, but more than that as well?

I rarely talk for more than 15-30 minutes at a time on my phone. When I had the EVO, it was relatively normal to use it as a wifi access point for my ipad or wife's laptop if we were somewhere without access, check scorecenter, reddit, facebook, etc, stuff like that. I also used it for work, so would get between 50-75 pages/day with it. Even doing that, I'd have around 15-20% battery (2 year old stock battery), at the end of the day. Should I need more battery, I could turn the phone off, put in the extended battery, fire it back up, and be back in the game. How are you going to do that with the iphone? Your best bet will be to have one of those cases with the built in battery. Those are pretty slick and is a relatively elegant solution to a fixed non removable battery, but with the increased "compact" screen size, adding even more height with a battery case just doesn't make sense with the Iphone 5.

I camp out for boy scouts and cub scouts. When Iphone users had to retire their phones to the car for the evening to charge because they either died or were near dead, I could usually go until the next morning before I had to change out my battery or would do it right before I went to bed. More than once I heard people comment on how nice it would be if Apple had removable batteries that they could do that with.

What I'm saying is that the iPhone 5 will have 8 hrs of LTE usage. Using data over LTE for 8 hours. I'm not talking about LTE talk.

LTE data is where the benefit is, not talk.

My EVO was always on a charger by lunch time. I ended up hating that phone because of the battery life and this was on 3G since WIMAX in my area sucked. We must have had completely different usage habits.

I find it funny how you think it will get 8 hours of lte use.i will give you 500 bucks if that phone getd anywhere near that.

You are confusing lte data with regular talktime

That cell will NOT get anywhere near 8 hours of lte browsing and prolly not even half that.

I get 5.5 hours on screen lte time with a 2700mah battery on my gs3.

Talk time is like only 10 hours and that rating is with the screen iff and lte off

How about let's wait for Anandtech's controlled testing for comparison instead of your representation of the SGS3 with a non stock battery?

Quoted. Can't wait until anandtechs reviews come out and you are proven wrong.
