AT&T, TMO, Sprint, Verizon, and US Cellular. Not bad Samsung. June launches for them all too.

Snapdragon S4 @ 1.5Ghz, 2GB of RAM, HSPA/LTE radios, 16/32GB storage, sd slots, the usual. Much more impressive than the lackluster US launches of the S1 and S2. Assuming they all actually arrive on 21 June.

Cool, I was looking at getting Verizon later this year but I was concerned about their shitty phone selection, with the Droid Razr Maxx HD being the only thing on the horizon and I hate Motorola Android phones. Looks like the SGS3 will be the phone to get regardless of carrier.

It's nice that the US market ones seem to have more uniform hardware than they did in the past.

Maybe somewhat more uniform but still fragmented; you can't move a phone from one carrier to another. Verizon and Sprint phones are forever tied to their home networks, and T-Mobile and AT&T phones can be switched back and forth thanks to SIM cards but they won't get full speed data because they use different frequencies.

Unfortunately the CDMA carriers make that situation unavoidable.

I wish they had a black version of the phone although Apple would probably have sued them if they did. I'm not sure which color I would pick of the two options.

Seriously nice phone. I wonder if the Verizon upgrade kill for unlimited users will take effect before this phone comes out or after?

Supposed to be in the fall right? My guess is after this but before iPhone 5.

I'm guessing before; last year they made it impossible to start NEW unlimited data plans in July and then released a whole bunch of new 4G phones in the fall.

I don't see any carrier specific hardware branding. I hope they keep it that way for launch. Also interested in how the US version compares to the international Exynos.

I always prefer black phones. The pebble blue isn't bad, but white is universally gaudy and hideous.

Well it has less cores but most mobile apps aren't optimized for quad core (not yet at least). I don't really know how the international version's Mali 400 MP4 compares with the US Adreno 225. One plus for the US version is it has 2 GB of RAM instead of 1 GB.

I think people are making too big a deal about it. It's probably not worth upgrading from an SGS2, but it'll certainly be a great improvement from an older phone.

I may sell my iphone for one of these babies. I'm about fed up with my complete inability to type for crap on the iphone. I tried a SGS2 with swype and thought it worked 100x better.

Yeah, but those types of internal tweaks are unavoidable and we already expect them. The bigger issue was to avoid the stuff they did with the SGS2 and release versions with and without LTE, 4.3 and 4.5" screens, different CPUs, etc and still call them the SGS2. Makes buying batteries and such a friggin nightmare. If I can use the same case on all of the phones, and the same battery then things are much improved as far as fragmentation is concerned.

These will all share batteries, chargers, cases, stands, docks, etc with each other and the international version, which will be a BIG improvement.
Maybe next year we can get a simultaneous launch even. They have been improving that with each release anyway.

It's possible for some Verizon phones to work on AT&T due to the standard GSM frequencies used, but don't expect anything above HSPA+ and also assuming they don't forcefully lock out GSM use in the US. However, you will never get a device on Verizon or Sprint that wasn't meant for their networks.

Does Amazon do pre-orders too? Never bought a phone on release day. Getting this one, assuming they don't shitcan my unlimited data to upgrade on Verizon.

I'll probably stick with my SGS2 for this cycle. Don't see the need to upgrade just yet.

Very nice. Very happy to see such a fast release compared to the international version and that the phone is going to pretty much be the same across all the carriers. A massive step in the right direction.

Really debating on dumping my Galaxy Nexus for this phone. Too bad I have to pay full price but still tempted. I'm trying to wait until we hear more about the next gen Nexus phones/iPhone 5 but the S3 looks sweet.

My initial plan was to use the GN for a few months and sell it to pick up an S3 when it comes out, but honestly I'm happy enough with my Nexus to keep it at least until the new Nexus line is announced in November. I'm hoping for an S3-like phone with on-screen buttons and stock Android.

I've thought of waiting as well, but Verizon screwed the pooch when it came to the Nexus by holding back updates from Google. There's no point getting a Nexus on Verizon when they won't let it be a Nexus. I figure I'll sell my holdover iPhone 4 and get the S3 when it comes out at the end of this month (that's a guess, T-Mobile S3 is 21st).

I really hope that a big announcement tomorrow from V is not that the new shared data plans are in effect immediately, thereby preventing us from maintaining unlimited data and getting a subsidized S3.

The one carrier that hasn't announced the June 21 date is AT&T, so I'm worried that they may be planning to screw their customers.

Seems like a mistake from them, since everyone else is launching the identical phone on 21 June. I know AT&T's not very bright sometimes, but anyone in contract renewal time in the last week of June could easily get the S3 on any carrier they choose.
