Can't wait for this so I can swap my Note II work line. Have been using it since launch and haven't found any other phone I want to replace it with, it's so useful for hammering out emails, taking quit notes, etc. I use the S4 for my personal line because it's just more liveable day to day and a more comfortable size to use especially if I go out, won't be worried about feeling like I'll drop it lol. I love having the flexibility the Note offers though and if they can increase the screen size only marginally and not make the phone physically larger then I'll definitely get this at launch.

Can i know the reason as to why it is going to be a long wait... ???

Probably just one (of many) who really don't want to wait for the newest and greatest. If it follows the Note 2, the phone won't be in the hands of US customers until October - at least a quarter away.

The one concern (or question) I have is if the structure allows bending will it become more scratch prone ?

Flexible displays are unbreakable since they can bend on impact rather than shatter.

Also, flexible displays give rise to display lips and even bendable displays.

Look at this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OYTyl3ipgk

Of course we are a long way from achieving such technology but flexible displays present a lot of possibilities in regards to how people can physically interact with their smartphones/tablets.

I think this rumor is really just a rumor though. Hence why I didn't make another topic for it since this is a rumor thread.

I don't know, I'd buy a "Note 3", "Note 3 Active" and "Note 3 Mini", given Samsung's predilection to throw everything against the wall to see what sticks.

The Note phone series was a dark horse in the game, I never would have guessed they'd be so successful it. (I just bought a used one for GF, she's going to love it, I really enjoy mine)

There's not going to be a Note 3 Mini... that'd simply be a regular smartphone.

I am really curious to see the impact of the Note 3 on the marketplace. I believe its upcoming release is the main reason the Galaxy S4 sales were below expectations. I love my Maxx, and have an upgrade available. The Note 3 is the only phone that has made me willing to depart from my Razr Maxx, so I'm anxiously awaiting its release this december or whenever... :)

I'll be selling my Optimus G Pro and fixing/selling my Note II to buy a Note III when it comes out.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to sport enhanced Exynos 5 Octa.

Enhanced Exynos 5 Octa unveiled, on its way to Galaxy Note III

Samsung has just announced an enhanced version of its Exynos 5 Octa chipset. Currently the Octa chipset is available only on the I9500 Galaxy S4 flagship.
The second generation Exynos 5 Octa might be called Exynos Evolved and will be officially presented next week. So far the teaser just says it’s "a more powerful, enhanced Exynos 5 Octa".

It seems Samsung is launching the new chipset just in time for the Galaxy Note III that's supposed to be unveiled in September and launch this Fall. The smartphone has been in the rumorlands for quite a while and it should be available in a couple of versions - one with Snapdragon 800 and another one powered by this improved Octa chipset.
Samsung promises to bring detailed specifications and more details on the new Exynos next week. Then we'll learn more about its GPU and the exact clock speed of its eight cores.

That's delusional thinking right there. All major smartphone OEMs have hit a snag in the past year. GS4 sales being below expectations is part of that trend not because of a stupid larger smartphone...

"Enhanced", I'd bet, means "fixed", with per-pair core switching etc.

Of course that may make i9500 owners sort of orphaned already.

Sorry I missed this earlier.

A 5" Note 3 Mini with a Wacom digitizer would target a different market than the SGS4.

I would imagine that the softened sales of the SGS4 are due to the fact that Samsung sold 50 millions SGS3's in the past year. That's a lot of people that are, more likely than not, going to be under some kind of contract.

I am still curious if the Note 3 with buck this trend, I believe it will. Maybe I'm wrong but the Note 3 seems to be the most anticipated phone at the moment and I'm very sure that I am not the only one that has an upgrade available that has chosen to skip the GS4 and instead awaits the release of the Note 3.

Time will soon tell..

Unlike the Note 2 the Note 3 has some serious competition everywhere you look. Whether it's LG, SONY, or all the various brands in China, Samsung does not have this market to itself anymore. Worse, many don't care for the Wacom pen, only the large screen. So, I can understand you and others anticipating the Note 3, but it's not a big deal anymore (pun intended)...

I had an upgrade available June 1st but had already bought and sold an S4 and bought and am currently using a HTC One, so I am holding out the upgrade for the Note 3. The only other phone that has my interest right now is the Nexus 5.

The One Max or whatever they will call it could also make things interesting if its like the One but in a larger form factor.

I personally would love a S4 size device with an s-pen. The main reason I went with the Note 2 & Note 10.1 is the s-pen. I know some people don't care about it, but the Note series has it's target market, & it is not about the size of the screen.
My boss also has a Note 2, & I laugh at him when he asks for a pen so he can write something down. I always tell him, "your phone has one", He is all "D'oh!"

Could this be the Galaxy Note 3's CPU? Double the graphics processing of the original Exynos 5 Octa found on the Korean Galaxy S4.

Could we be seeing an international and US Exynos 5 Octa that will finally have community support and support other LTE networks other than Korean LTE networks?

It seems highly likely. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung decides to launch a Snapdragon based Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung updates Exynos 5 Octa with double the graphics processing

The company's new chip, which is based on four ARM Cortex-A15 processors, is slated for widespread production in August.

Samsung has updated its already popular Exynos 5 Octa processor.
Samsung's update doubles the graphics processing power of its previous Exynos 5 Octa, the company announced on Tuesday. In addition, it's powered by four 1.8GHz ARM Cortex-A15 processors and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores, providing 20 percent more CPU processing than the predecessor.

According to Samsung, it's been seeing increasing demand for mobile processors that can deliver high-end graphics processing. The company's latest Exynos 5 will deliver that, but will also cut down on power consumption, according to Samsung.
The octa-core processor from Samsung has been around for months, but it's been available in just a few of the company's products. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is arguably the most notable Exynos 5-based device, but that's been extremely hard to come by in North America.
Samsung has not said what products might be running its updated Exynos 5 Octa, but the company is currently sampling it to customers. Mass-production on the Exynos 5 is slated to begin in August.

Samsung also decides to use ARM's 6 score Mali-T628 MP6 GPU:

Following the teaser last week, Samsung has finally unveiled the new Exynos 5 Octa chip and shared some more details about it.
The new Exynos 5 Octa 5420, which is likely to power the Samsung Galaxy Note III, is retaining its ARM big.LITTLE architecture with four Cortex A15 and Cortex A7 cores. Thanks to a boost in the clock speeds of both quartets of CPU cores, the new Exynos 5 Octa packs 20% more punch than its predecessor. The quad Cortex A15 now run at up to 1.8GHz, as opposed to 1.6GHz in the 5410 version, while the Cortex A7 can now operate at 1.3GHz, compared to 1.2GHz in the previous version.

Samsung has opted out of using Imagination's PowerVRSGX544MP3 graphics of its new gen Octa chip and has decided to use the 6-core ARM Mali-T628 MP6. The memory is updated as well and while its the same dual-channel 32-bit LPDDR configuration it can now support up to 1866MHz clock speed. This results in a maximum bandwidth of 14.9Gbps.
As a result of this boost in the memory, the new Exynos 5 Octa comes with full HD Wi-Fi display support. As with any new generation chip, Samsung has made improvements in the energy department and the 5420 chip is more efficient when used on high-resolution display devices, improving battery life.
Samsung says the Exynos 5 Octa 5420 is now sampling and will enter mass production in August. That means the chipset will be ready just in time for the Galaxy Note III announcement, which should happen on September 4.

So Samsung has again decided to partner up with US company ARM and will also use their own manufacturing technology to produce the new Exynos 5 Octa SoCs which will entirely be Samsung's architecture. Exynos CPU's have always been slightly faster than competing Snapdragon CPU's. I'm very interested to see which route Samsung takes and going the Exynos route will probably advantage most people as most of the demand is on speed and fluidity.
