Galaxy GeForce 9800 GT - $89.99 AR + FS

heard nvidia is readying 55nm parts in Jan/Feb and ATI is about to unleash 40nm parts in late Q1 to mid Q2. They will probably clean up stocks.

Heads up... CompUSA has XFX cards, 9800GT's, for 10 bucks more. I jumped on it since I have a CompUSA B&M store 5 minutes from my house and I prefer the brand/warranty.

Jeezus, I can't believe the price drop of these things....

They were selling for around $100 (after MIR)or so for a few months already so this isn't a big price drop

9800GT have been available in 55nm versions since around Aug/Sept

Can someone please tell me what nVidia chipset is similar to ATI's 4850 in performance. At first glance, 4830 and 4850 have 640 and 800 stream processors - I still have to see a nVidia product with that many (not that I have looked diligently, just glancing around). Or perhaps it is not relevant for comparison for some reason I don't know.

probably the 9800GTX+

9800GT is slower, GTX260 is faster

ATI and Nvidia use different architectures so you can't directly compare the stream processors

BFG has a couple of 55nm 9800 GT cards, the OC2 and OCX versions. 😉
