It's only DRM-free insofar as that you MUST USE the Impulse client (Stardock's version of Steam) in order to download and play it, and it then becomes inexorably tied to your Impulse account. 🙂

Hmmmm wish it came with the expansion packs, or at least I wish there was also a deal on the expansions. This plus the Expansion Bundle adds up to $32.

Well you can get the dvd version for $10 at places like target and bestbuy so it is a good deal but $20 is hardly the current price.

well this is 'base' game, I know for at least two significant expansions

You can buy the game and its 2 expansions at best buy for $30, which is the best price I've been able to find. Buying them on Impulse is $40 minimum.
