Can anyone out there help me find a bios for my Gainward GeforceFX 5900XT Golden Sample card? I have the orginal bios, but I need an updated one. The only way you can download the bios is with a utility called ExperTool and they seemed to have left that option out of their program in the newer versions...
I cannot get ahold of tech support, my emails come back undelivered.
I appreciate it!

No,
What I mean is that the newer version of ExperTool doesn't give you the option of updating the bios. I think its something they need to definitely patch. So..I don't have any way of obtaining it. Any help on getting it would be great

Are you saying that the 'EXPERT Update' option is missing?

If so, why not try an older version (like v3.09).

The two updates that are available are expertool update(expertool software update only) and Update VGA driver. Older versions ie. 3.18 had the Update VGA bios option but newer versions don't. And alas I cannot find an older version of Expertool, it isn't on Gainwards site as far as I can tell

Sweet,
It let me download a newer bios. In the readme file it says something about fixing a clock speed bug. I think this is what Ive been waiting for for awhile now. Now all I need is to order my floppy drive so I can flash it. Can you flash with a cdrom??
Thanks

Hey Blazer,
I am currently using the original bios. I get problems with games locking up for 5-10 seconds and then returning back to normal. I found an older expertool and was able to find a new bios. It is dated for March of this year, so its the newest I've seen. It really doesn't have a readme file with it because Gainward sucks, but there is a note about it fixing a problem with the clock frequencies not reading right in an older bios that was newer than the original. I've just flashed the bios and all seems okay, but I havent tried any games yet. I'll let you know what happens. If you need the older expertool to get this bios, drop me a private message. Peace

Well its good to know that I wasnt the only one having the same problem with Expertool. Do you have a link to the older version of the file? I want to see if my card also has any updates available.

I have the link here:
ForumBase Just scroll down and there are a couple links there. The first ftp link is the one you want. If you cannot get the link, PM me and I will email it to you. I think it has solved my video problem, but I havent had much time to test it.
