I've got a 6800GT GS videocard from Gainward. Great card, till it burnt out.
Since then, I've been attempting to contact Gainward, through e-mails and through phone #'s, none of which has produced any results. I've tried every e-mail listed on their site, and I've tried every phone number listed on their site. Does anyone here know how to contact them, or any information as to why I cannot contact them?

I've googled press releases relating to Gainward, but everything I've found has been a year or so too old, and so unuseful.

Maybe even a way I could mount a new heatsink on there would be better. What happened was one of the fans split in two pieces, and I got one to replace it. Upon tearing the card down to replace the fan, I noticed one of the screws holding the heatsink in was broken. Well, lo and behold, that allowed my card to overheat 20*c over it's normal running temps, and if you lookit the card, you can see it is warped and the heatsink is not properly seated onto the GPU. Good stuff. ;(

I'm down to the point of scraping at dirt here. It's a $400 card that is still under warrenty, but I cannot get ahold of the people that would have to replace it to get it replaced! Help! ~_~

try a international number

Yeah, I tried all the differnt phone numbers there, the ones I have tried the most have been the USA, UK, and Taiwan #'s.

And as for them being taken over, that's what I was trying to find out with the press release search - I didn't find anything.

I've also tried contacting their distributors, but only one of them has a website link, and I didn't even see Gainward listed on their product page.

Well since you've recieved almost no real help so far (well otisspunkmeyer did).

Ok, first of all, Gainward has been in a big restructuring deal. A Japanese company bought the video card division, and so they currently have pulled out of the North American market. I had thought they had made a note of who to contact in the event you needed help (tech support, RMA, etc.) on their U.S. site though.

Here ya go: Text

It says there's a form for you to fill out in order to get an RMA.

Hope that helps and you can get your card taken care of.

Yeah, that's the first thing I did 3 weeks ago on a Thursday, I then waited till Wensday of the next week before I bothered to call the phone number. That is when I got the recording, leading me to Gainward Taiwan's phone numbers - neither of which produce an awnser.

I've also filled out the other form that have listed on the "Contact Us" page.

I have that same video card and the same exact problem as you do. My card burnt out and I cant get in contact with anyone. I tried e-mails,phone numbers, filled out all the forms and everything and still no response from those clowns. This is ridiculous. I spent well over 300 dollars for it and its crap. If find out anything from them please post it here so I can get my problem resolved, and I will do the same

I got into contact with them about a week and a half ago.

They are moving all their crap over to Taiwan (which I already knew), and they had basically shut everything down at the USA HQ. They contacted me 4 buisness days before they were leaving (Thursday they called, Wensday of the next week they were leaving), and they said that if I wanted my card fixed, I had to have it to them by Wensday of that next week, because they would be leaving the USA to goto Taiwan, and wouldn't be able to receive it.

Well....

Friday, I had the card packaged and sent, it arrived there Monday, but nobody was there to receive it, and the PO said they would be bringing it back to them on Wensday. It's been about a week and a half (making it, as of May 6, 2005, 6 weeks since I started having the problem), and I havn't heard anything about anyone reguarding my video card. The guy told me that his boss would be taking the viodeo card with him to Taiwan, and would then send one out for me to have - that's driving me up the damn wall.

Also, I should note, that they were not happy that I had contacted the BBB. I'd suggest contacting them. I'd also try calling the phone #'s again, since they -SHOULD- damn well be set up over there by now.

I hope you can get your problem fixed dave - I know I'm having a huge problem with it.

P.S. When I got my BBB report, it mentioned that this was not the first case that they have filed against Gainward. Anyone else see a trend?

I'm having the same problem with Gainward. My Ti4200 started acting up per an issue they are well aware of (http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,109061,00.asp ). They seem to have abandoned ship at this point. Tried no less than SIX different ways to contact them by email, phone, and RMA form. No response at all. I am also about to contact my BBB about the situation and possibly members of the Associated Press that are aquaintenances of mine.

I'll keep an eye out and an ear to the ground regarding any addditional info and post it back here when I can.

Cheers.

Well this kinda blows. I have a Gainward 6800 GT GS myself. If it goes down, I'll probably replace it with a newer card, I suppose, rather than deal with these RMA head aches.

Just keeping this thread alive, as promised to gainward in an earlier email I am here to tell you not to buy their products. Their Support is no longer there you will not get a RMA if you have the misfortune of having a faulty product. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, contacte every person in their company with no response. I am now going to go to all harware sites that sell their products and write some more reveiws on their products, it is, I feel, the least that I can do for all the poor SOB that may be considering buying their products. I am not going to do all of this overnight, right now my memory is good, and i do chekc out products frequently and read reveiws

Lame. The fan on my Gainward FX5900 GS just started going out a few weeks ago. It was already 6 months out of warranty so I didn't bother trying to RMA. The Geforce 3 ti200 I got from them is still going strong, however. Has it been announced who purchased the video card division?

wow, i had an eVGA 6800nu that heated to 153C because the fan broke, and it lived for another week, until my psu failed and killed it. wow your card can't handle alot, i don't even think 20c above is beyond the 120C threshold. evga is a very reiable brand! i noticed almost nothing different after the overheat and games played smoothly.
