Gainward gf3 WDM drivers ???

This is probally a dumb question, but what are WDM drivers. I've got a gainward gf3 in the mail and was downloading the current drivers to set it up when it arrives. The Gainward support has two drivers listed. The normal video card drivers and something called WDM 1.04h. I don't have a clue what this software is.

windows digital media I believe.. at any rate they are installed on cards with vivo (video in/video out)

WDM drivers are 2000 drivers basically (correct me if I'm wrong) They tried to push this driver model when WinME was released to prepare everyone for XP. However the WDM support in WinME wasn't very good I think which is why it really never took off, from a driver development point of view.. This is my understanding, and is probably totally wrong.
