For the longest time the best bang for the buck has been the GF3 ti200, but now they throw the GF4 ti4200 into the mix. Now seriously... there are just way too many freakin' nVidia chipsets and variations out right now! I can't keep track of all the subtle difference in order to make a wise decision on which one to buy.
So please answer me this, what exactly is the difference between a GF3 ti200 and a GF4 ti4200? I recall reading about how the GF4 ti series really aren't much different than the GF3's except they run faster clock speeds and memory speeds, however the whole deal with the ti4200 is that it's clocked slower. But how much faster than the ti200 is it really?
Also, have you looked at the pictures of Gainward's GF4 ti cards on newegg yet? The $159 ti4200 looks different from all the other ones... no heatsinks on the RAM, yet they claim it has 3.5ns RAM which is faster than the ti4400's 3.6ns RAM. What gives?
