Gaim problem

I seem to be having a problem with Gaim on Windows. Whenever I would double click on somones name or even just right click and choose IM Gaim just closes. Anybody have any idea what is wrong?

My passwords for AIM, MSN, ICQ and Yahoo all have been changed to something secure so it has nothing to do with that.

Is it crashing? You might want to get the most recent version and see if that helps.

I already redownloded and reinstalled it and I am getting the same problem.

one of the earlier versions of gaim used to crash on me if I had it sort my buddy list by status, changing it to one of the other options seemed to help, I don't have that problem with the newer versions though

Changed the sorting and it still does the same thing.
