GAHH!!!!! MY T1's ARE DOWN!!!!

Fritzo

Lifer
Can someone help me with all these calls? I have 52 in the queue now!!! :Q I'd record a message but our phone server is on that same T1 bundle 🙁

Fritzo: I suggest taking a picture of the bill and dishing out pure pwnage. That will make you feel better, at least.

I feel your pain. One of my Call Center's in Tennessee stoped taking calls this morning due to a network outage, as well.

All you guys with T1's have camera's that suck.

Nah, I was too lazy to switch it off that horrible "AUTO" setting. The "OMGIKNOWHOWTOUSEACAMERA" setting is two clicks further, and I just don't care that much.

Lookie, I have a T1, too!
On
Oops, I unplugged it

Edit:
Astrocom NX1 CSU/DSU: $7 at GoodWill Superstore
RJ45 T1-loopback-test connector: $0 and 5 minutes of crimping and soldering.

WOW your local Goodwill carries stuff like that? Mine doesn't :-(

A lot of electronic items get sent to the superstores rather than the smaller stores. You can find all kinds of cool stuff at the superstores. Go load up on 17" monitors. They almost always work and are so cheap you won't care if they don't.

Mine was a camera phone, so what do you expect? 🙂

You guys are an ISP and never prepared for something like this?

I expect companies to test their equipment and put it through different situations to make sure there is minimal downtime, if any

We actually are, but we have a tripple whammy:

1) It's the weekend- SBC techs are on call (during the Steelers/Giants game no less)
2) Our spare smart card is unmanned on the CO end, so they'd have to dispatch a second technician to plug it in over there- more hours of waiting
3) All of the staff than normally fixes this is out of town.

I have another T1 that I'm going to route everything over on in a bit, but that's going to take changing the default gateway on like 40 servers 🙁
