The risk is over - now the math begins on how many satellites it'll ice and if it'll give us a hellacious show by slamming into the NEAR SIDE of the moon.

According to that "bible code", wasn't the world supposed to end in 1997? Or am I mixing up my catastrophic predictions?

That would be horrible. If we lose the moon, or if the moons mass increases, it'll have CATASTROPHIC effects on the earth's climate, not to mention the possibility of the moon hitting coliding with us.

Where the moon came from
Another explanation of it's origin

How the moon affects weather

I don't think it'll touch any satellites; AFAIK, the highest satellites are the geosync satellites and they're simething like 35k km up and the asteroid will only get as close as 64k km. Don't know about the probability of hitting the moon, but I'd imagine it's next to none since the Moon isn't a huge object to begin with.

This isn't a terrifyingly huge object we're talking about. The moon has taken impacts from MUCH larger before (granted, we've never been there to watch, but heh)

I think that happen in the movie "the time machine" we had began drilling on the moon and we messed it up and it broke apart and it caused destruction on earth.

:music:
Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we?ll see armageddon soon.

Hm. I've never seen either the old or new version of that movie. I did, however, see a documentary on this from the Discovery Channel. It was very interesting.

There are a few satellites with eliptical orbits that swing out past the geosync satellites. Still very improbable though.

they don't swing out past the moon though. the moon is .0026 AUs from earth. the closes this thing is was originally predicted to get was like 0.34
