Gadhafi dead?

Supposedly captured, but died in transit to hospital (leg wounds and possible head wound).

I think he was trying to escape from Sirte and got caught in Nato bombing attack.

It's a coverup, he's been dead all along... The US just needed some time to stir something else up for the crowd like perhaps an assassination plot by Iran on domestic soil. Gotta have reasons for defense spending ya know. :whiste:

"Don't worry, we've got money to spare!"

Chuck Todd on MSNBC this morning:

Iraq: 1 Trillion Dollars and 1000 lives

Libya: 1 Billion Dollars and no U. S. military deaths (1 billion dollars is equivalent to three DAYS costs at peak of Iraq Invasion)

Another story line about Gadhafi's capture or killing was that he was found hiding in a sewer drain and pulled out by Libyan rebels and killed.

You're counting chickens before they're hatched. They'll be 'terrorists' in Libya, and we'll be sending billions to them annually.

I don't doubt the 1 trillion, but the US casualties are over 4,400 for Iraq. http://icasualties.org/

What took so long?

He should have been killed decades ago.

See the following:

Libyan people stood up and did this with our support. They did the ground fighting, taking on the casualties leaving us with a fairly cheap expense. HOWEVER, victory is only the beginning and the true cost is in the decade (century?) long commitment that follows.

Too bad 100% of our military involvement in Libya was illegal.

Congrats. You've outdone anarchist420 for the furtherst stretch from reality in this thread.

All we can do now is hope that this beautiful nation that has stood as a beacon of light to the world and a source of hope and charity hasn't fallen so deeply into Republican self hate that it will not now help Libya get back on its feet. Those who are poor in spirit don't like to help others because all they can see is their own needs. This is what self hate does to a once beautiful people.
