Gadgets stopped working in Win7

All of a sudden the Gadgets stopped working. The clock/calendar/weather disappeared and when I press the Gadgets button when right clicking on the desktop, it does nothing...

Anyone run into this problem?

No problem here, just enabled the clock and weather......Works as well as Vista.

I ran into the same thing, the weather gadget was on my desktop and I realized it had just disappeared. When I went to turn it back on I wasn't able to get into the menu again. This might have happened after I rebooted because I installed the ATI driver set. I turned off my machine for the night and will check if I can get them to work again when I get home from work today.

I was retracing my steps on what I had turned on and off and this was one that I completely forgot about...

Yes, turn it on to at least level 1, 0 will turn off gadgets I had this issue

its something to do with them running in protected mode, so turning off the protection = no gadgets

Makes sense. They are constantly pulling info and updating from the net.

Anyone test out performance with UAC off/on?

Found that when I changed the font DPI settings, it made my clock stop working.
