Got an email about this, though everytime my shoprunner expires(originally free) they just send me a link to renew another year for free.

I just got the email about this also. As everyone before me already posted, Costco Amex cards work. Thanks for the heads-up OP!

edit: my free account was about to expire as well. Good timing.

I got this email too because of my blue card. I guess I should sign up... But one question: do you just have to set the amex card as the default shop runner card but you can use any card you want when you make your purchase?

Same, but I signed up anyway because I'd rather have Amex to complain to if there are issues than Shoprunner. Been doing business with Amex for decades, whereas Shoprunner doesn't know me at all really. Interesting that this deal was posted here nearly a week before Amex got around to emailing its members individually.

Amex blue works.

So, how do I use it at newegg?

When you're signed into shoprunner, newegg should automatically give you the shipping at checkout.

sno.lcn is correct, although I would recommend using the same e-mail address for newegg.com and shoprunner.com

Login to both and it should be automatic, unless you have to somehow link them together? IIRC mine was dummy proof and fairly easy to setup.

Anyone else?

On new egg I have to click the shop runner link in the checkout cart screen and a pop up opens where you enter you credentials there.

Oddly, this is not working for me. I can log into the ShopRunner site without any problem, but when I try to sign in from the shopping cart of Newegg, it tells me that the credentials are wrong. I've checked and re-checked to be sure they are the same I use on the ShopRunner site proper and I can't work it out. I've tried on EMS.com as well with no luck. It's very strange.

I sent a message to ShopRunner's tech support, so we'll see how that goes.

I'd send a message to Amex tech support too...

If you got an Amex card that apparently is not a real amex but just uses the amex network there is no way to switch to amex unless I apply for another amex card? Hope that makes any sense.

Correct, you need to apply for an Amex card through americanexpress.com. They have a decent number of no-annual-fee cards such as the Blue cards and the Hilton HHonors card. For high spenders I recommend the SPG Amex and the Premier Rewards Gold for their superior rewards, but those cards have annual fees.

Blue Cash Preferred is a fee card but if you have a family you can easily make money on top with the grocery alone, it's the one I have.

Signed up for regular Blue Cash. The extra cash back on gas and groceries is nifty plus the intro offer of 0%APR for 15mo and 12.99 regular APR.
