cool... now i get my newegg goodies faster...

hmmm... so i sign up, then wander over to ne to test... when i went to my basket at ne it first showed the normal 'pick a shipping' page, then, without me touching anything, it reloaded with shoprunner as the only shipping option... that's a little weird... my amex is my default pay on ne, but them linking all this up this quick is a little spooky...

In the terms and conditions it says if you are already a shoprunner member, that the old membership will be cancelled. Amex isn't my preferred low interest card to use so I didn't do this.

Perhaps they knew it was you if your e-mail address was also the same between accounts?

This is schweet. Worked for me. When checking out at NE, I can use other credit cards no problem. Thanks OP!

As long as they can provide better member benefit, I don't mind they charge 10000% interest rate.

No workie with my Fidelity-Amex 2% rewards card.

It needs to be a real American Express card issued by American Express Centurion Bank or American Express Bank, FSB. As in, you check your balance by logging into americanexpress.com. This makes you a "cardmember" of American Express.

If you have an Amex-branded card issued by another bank (Fidelity, Citi, etc.) then this will not work, as it simply uses the Amex network for processing (as opposed to Mastercard/Visa/Discover) and it doesn't have much to do with American Express per se.

Thanks OP, I got in on this.

You don't actually have to pay for stuff with your AmEx - it just has to be setup as your default payment method when you shop directly through them. You can change your payment method at checkout (just don't use the fast checkout option) and it's no problem.

So Amex CostCo and Amex BCE should qualify?

Yes. I can confirm it works for my Costo Amex. When I entering my Amex card number for verification, I recall reading something that said the card number must end with 1001. My Citi Amex card ends with something else.

Rats-it doesn't work for my Bank of AMerica issued AMEX Rewards card. Disappointing-this is the best hot deal I've seen in a long time.

Not necessarily true, my SPG Amex (which I used for this promotion) ends in 1005, but the "100X" might be correct. I do have 5 Amex-issued Amex cards... all fit the 100X pattern except my Blue, which ends in 200X.

But yes, the Costco card is issued by American Express. As are all of their Blue products, as well as the "original" Green, Gold, and Platinum Amex charge cards, as well as 2x Hilton HHonors cards, 3x Delta cards, SPG, JetBlue, etc.

Nice! Got the one year extension a while back for being an Amex holder but this is certainly better.
