Maybe I'm just in a bad mood cause I'm pissed at my boss, and looking for a new job, but this being my first day off in a while i decided to go blow some of my paycheck on DVDs. So I go to Walmart and find a few I want, Queen Live at Wembley Stadium (it was only $15 so I couldn't pass it up) and Sleepy Hollow for $10. So I get up to the register and the lady asks me for ID. I've bought countless rated R movies at Walmart and had no problem, apparently you have to be 17 to buy them (not one cashier has asked me if I was 17, btw I'm 16). So I tell her I left my wallet at home and she says "Well I can sell you this if you don't have ID." Now seriously wtf, it's not like I'm buying cigarettes or something, its a goddamn MOVIE. So I get pissed off but just did a deep pissed off kinda breath and said "Ok, fine." So I took the other DVD and left, went to Movie Gallery (only other place that sells DVDs in this town) to see if they have Sleepy Hollow previously viewed or something now that I was in the mood to watch it. They didn't, not surprising, but I did see The Hunted which I liked pretty well, it was $15 but if you bought 2 DVDs you got the 3rd free. So I look for a few decent $10 movies I liked that I didn't already have, found The Transporter and Anger Management, both $10. So I go up to the register, hand her the two $10 movies and set The Hunted down on the counter kinda indicating I wanted that one free. So she grabs it and rings it up with the other two and I end up paying for The Hunted and The Transporter and getting Anger Management free. Yeah, its only $5 difference but I was in a pissed off mood anyway and this didn't really help, but oh well.

Cliff notes:
Walmart refused to sell me Sleepy Hollow, apparently you have to be 17 to buy R movies there but I've never had anyone ask me until now.
Movie Gallery is a money grubbing whore.

Well, them's the rules apparently. Atleast you didn't get too pissy with the cashier since she was only doing her job.

edit: Didn't read the buy 2 get 1 free part. Everywhere I've been it's always the cheapest one is free.

You know that they do deliberately give you the cheapest one free, right? Read the signs more carefully next time, its possible that they did specify this beforehand.

And just because before Wal-Mart didn't ask for your ID doesn't mean they were right then. This new girl was doing her job right is all. And its likely you don't look >17, either. Pic?

There are no signs, I read the little sticker on the movies and it said buy 2 get the 3rd free. I'm not saying the girl wasn't doing her job but you'd think that they would put up some kind of sign by the register or by the DVDs that said you had to be 17 to buy R movies. Just kinda pisses me off because they've never asked me for ID, I had no idea about this rule, which is kinda absurd anyway.

Sorry, no pic.

Ever heard of the phrase "equal or lesser value free" ? That's what happened... not saying that's what should've happened in your case, but apparently that's their unsaid policy.
