GA7VRXP Help & Question

I was not getting a posting beep, and returned the mobo. Now it is not recognizing the AGP ? Video card. I tried 2 cards, and at one time the lesser board was recognized, and when I switch to the better board, both don'twork. The boards are good as I took them from systems that were operational. My question is is it possible to do something to make them connect. I hate to rma again. I did put an eraser to the contacts.Case has 320W power, Athlon XP 1600, 256k Muskin DDR memory. The only board installed and is a modem. It does post with that board installed. I took the board out of the case, and installed the system one screw at a time and checked to see if it posted. It did not post only with the AGP card.

What kind of power supply are you using, and what are the specifics of your rig?

Try pushing down harder on the AGP card. There are two rows of contacts in the AGP slot, and the card might not be making it past that second row, which does cause a non-POST... I went through that with my K7S5A when it was new, the contacts were simply quite stiff. Good luck! 😀
