There is definitely a lot of uncertainty about the future, there is a massive Trump cult that does not exist in reality to deal with, totally anti-democratic corrupt Trumper party politicians that want to capitalize on that at the expense of democracy, and this victory gives us the absolute slimmest of margins in the Senate, with Joe Manchin to worry about on some votes, to go along with a pretty slim one in the House, plus the SC is pretty conservative - just because they wouldn't overthrow an election doesn't mean they are going to get all fuzzy wuzzy on us. But it is a solid victory and in a state we were not expected to win anything on this level, and it's gonna make Mitch minority leader. That's a big fucking deal. At least we'll get votes on shit and put people on the record, and then we should be smart and campaign on those votes.

It's a great day for America today.

I wish I was a therapist because a lot of republicans are going to need professional help over the next four years. The only Republican I see as being very content is Melania Trump. Will be interesting to see if Melania stays with this loser or an old man or cashes out in search of greener pastures.

I think the key for Dems to never lose again is to motivate its base to get out and vote, and show what can happen (Trump) if you get lax on pushing the importance of voting and the consequences of. I expect to see higher turnout going forward. Well i hope so anyways. People can be dumb, so have to factor that in.

Trump is just good at magnifying passions in a way he wants. Things will return to normal with regular politics because the news cycle will bury all the little details rather than put it out there.

Also, lobbying is many times more important than voting. Voting is something to keep the plebs complacent with a false sense of power.

Let's hope the Dems don't blow it again like they did in 2009. I know the game for Reps now is to jack up demands and expectations on Dems to impossible heights but the fact is that the Dems do have to deliver something big for the American people in the next two years or its 2010 all over again. If the Dems go with half assed corporatist crap like the ACA again, they'll be out on their asses again.

I'm not sure how much they can get done. Remember even with the two GA seats they are not really a majority, they are a tie with the tie breaking vote going to the VP. That means that to pass any bill they will either need unanimous Democratic support or to flip some Republicans. One thing that has held true is that when the goal is thwarting the Democrats the GOP tends stand together. The GOP may not agree on much, but they certainly all agree that if a Democrat wants it they are against it, no matter what it is. So now it all comes down to how united the Democrats can be. I'm not willing to bet on them being united enough to get anything major passed.

Joe Manchin has just become one of the most important Senators in the nation.

Second seat not locked yet?

FAUX Snooze had a powerhouse package of sports and entertainment channels that most cable systems really couldn't choose not to carry. The other two are propaganda orphans.

It’s been called since 2am by Decision Desk HQ. Decision Desk HQ was the first to call every state in November and were 100% accurate. The called Biden President Elect a day or two before everyone else.

I just watched part of the View. They had a great interview with Warnock. The part that got me was Megan McCain asking questions about “packing the courts,” adding two new States and abolishing the filibuster. She was kind of insane during the interview. He did not answer her question, was totally in topic talking about Georgia, but she persisted until she was cut off. I mention this because it shows that the GOP will begin to hitch their wagon to these concepts to keep the base in fear and ginned up. Amazing on how they waste no time to begin the message. These folks are ruthless.

Republicans really really really hate Democracy. So GA has a successful election (no long lines, etc) because of no excuse absentee voting, yet Sterling thinks the legislature will probably get rid of it. Republicans hate Democracy.

The EU put sanctions on Poland and Hungary when they step out of democratic line.. Cant you do the same?

I thought I heard "Patriot Party" had been thrown around as a name. The irony will be lost on the idiots who join it.
Whatever the name they decide on Trump is going to insist on calling it the Real Republicans. It fits his brand. The only thing Trump is actually good at is branding.
But lets not mince words here, what this will really be is the fascist party. What Trump really desires is a party where he alone gets to decide who can and can not run.

No, the States have the power to run their own elections. And the representatives in these states draw their own districts (gerrymandering) to make sure they win, and then write laws to make it harder to vote and get them out of power.
The Republicans just realized that if you allow people to vote freely and easily, they can't win. I suspect the next few years we will see a decrease in the ease of voting. If we had a Supreme Court that actually respected democracy (it is illegal to have someone wait more than 1 hour to vote) we could put an end to this.

Hopefully that voting rights act will be passed just in time....
