I've been having weird problems with the GA-K8NS mobo and SATA.
My spec:
GA-K8NS F8 bios
AMD Athlon64 3000+
2 x 160GB Maxtor SATA RAID0
DVD-RW
DVD-ROM
Crucial 512MB PC3200
PSU 350W (came with case)
WinXP Home SP2
Since day one, I've problems with this mobo. Occassionally from a cold boot it will come up with a non-system disk error in the post, if I reset it, it boots up normally the 2nd time. However the real problem is that I have had to rebuild the pc 4 times, due to start up problems whereby winxp can't detect the raid hdd. First time it stopped before the winxp splash screen and hung. Tried xp recovery console, chkdsk /r, the Nvidia RAID bios detected the 2 SATA disks fine. Ran Maxtor powermax on both disks, found no problems. Rebuild the pc, ran ok for 3 weeks then same thing happened. Rebuilt it again, 2wks later wouldn't boot up, when I tried inserting the winxp CD to start the recovery option, the screen went blank after the checking configuration screen. Rebuilt it again. Finally yesterday while using the pc it crashed, rebooted then came up with non system disk error. It won't boot into winxp now. HELP!
