How is 350 greater than 350?

Based on Chiew's test, I'm sure he's got more headroom with that chip/board combo.

@ Chiew...please bump FSB to 355 or 360MHz and retest with Orthos Large mode. 1/2 hour should be sufficient. You can also bump Vcore up to 1.5 as long as Core 0 and 1 are under 60-65C. Your chip has 100C Tjunction, so don't worry about temp. I've pushed my E4300 up to 82C (1/2 hour). No problemo.

You can damage your cpu from electromigration with very high voltages, even with water/phase cooling.

It is absolutely no work to hit 350fsb with any of the chips/memory.

Anything above 350 seems to be unstable, even with low multipliers.

We will see if your theory holds water. I'm quite comfortable that Chiew's rig will be able to crack the "magical" 350MHz FSB barrier with little to no voltage bump. Been there, done that will many CPUs.

Its not a theory, remember P4 sudden death syndrome?

And did you do it on a 1.3 revision board? or was it 2.0 or 3.3? It appears that there is a difference.

Let me know, all of the older reviews for the GA-965P-DS3 seem to top out at ~352 with a .2v bump on vFSB and insane nbridge temps.

Suspicions confirmed.

All hardware is identical, just got the P35-DS3R.

FSB wall is gone, just successfully booted into windows at 6x525.

Old FSB wall was 6x350 12h orthos stable, wouldnt boot into windows at 355.

If you read the thread ive tried everything, including everything at the xtremesystems guide.

It also depends on which version of the board you have, the 1.0 and 1.3 dont like FSBs over 350 or so.

the 2.0 and 3.3 boards seem to do better.

The upgrade to the P35 was a night and day difference, with the same hardware.

increasing the pci-e clock
