Even though I know that the Pro version uses MCP-T and Pro2 uses MCP southbridge, I do not understand the difference between the two. All the features of Pro is available in Pro2, I think. I have ordered a Pro version and received Pro2. I am debating myself whether to return it or not. What do you guys think? For me the second network port is not too important. But I would really like to run my CPU at lower voltages to make sure it runs cool. I heard that 7N400 's set the default voltage to a bit higher than the nominal.

You need to check out the giga forums at nforcers and amdmb.com
Some are just discovering the pro2 overvolts the cpu, thus making it run hotter and they are unable to run at default voltage.

From my perspective I would not take a lesser featured board like the pro2 over the pro, especially if your going to have the most controll over the bios as possible.

Also, there is a modded bios for the pro, fixes ite controller issues and various other benefits

Thanks 3sixes, you have been very helpful!

Directron has messed up with my order! I have now requested them to send me the correct one. If they are already out of stock, I have to continue my shopping for 7n400 Pro. Not sure if anybody has Pro in stock at all!!

Tiger direct does not have in stock now!! And it is unsafe to order from other online vendors, as many of them mistake it with Pro2 version. People get confused about Pro, Pro2 and nforce2!! Gigabyte has really messed up with their naming convention.

Is 7N400 already a discontinued product? If it has so high a demand then why was it discontinued?

Anyways, I stopped looking for it anymore. Let me see if I can chose anything else. Probably I should stick to my favourite brands ASUS and ABIT.

There was a guy who calls himself pastorjay on the for sale/ trade forum who had one for 100.00. I almost bought it just because I now like the way my other box runs with the 400Pro. :)
