My brother made this ring with raid and he got a 1.4 Ahtlon couple weeks ago. He sold the CPU and bougth a Duron 950, the change CPUs and now the mobo wont boot with a checksum error, How can we clean cmos like regular mobos? there is no jumpers around the battery, We took the battery out for 5 min and still the same. Help here with this Dual Bios things....... The thing is we ask this friend for the Athlon again to ckeck the mobo and it boots again with the 1.4.Ahtlon with 50C Idle. We dont want this Athlon because is a lot of heat inside the case and the case doesn't have a good flow.... How can we make this Duron work? It' s new from New Egg 950mhz

There are utilites on the web for clearing CMOS at the usual sites: download.com, simtel, zd.net, tucows etc. Usually if there are no pins for clearing CMOS, there will be instructions in the manual or on the mobo mfr's web site in the FAQ.

Try removing the battery for a couple of hours.

Make sure you changed jumper to default(100mz) and ratio to auto at least. Its sounds like a jumper problem.

thanks guys, we like the mobo it has a lot of overclocking features, we want to keep it but the 1.4 Athlon is a beast for the heat. We got a Igloo 2100 and we were playing Serious Sam for hours without problems. We got this mobo from a RMA, but we overlooked the Cmos set up. We thougth the Dual Bios we 'll do the job but it not. I 'll ckeck for that info...we still want to get the Duron working for overclocking options.

It looks like only a few of the DL sites are keeping up their DOS sections so go to www.simtel.net to pick up a CMOS utility. The two good ones are: bios1310.zip and cmostool.zip . Good luck.

If you are looking at the mobo with the PCI slots to the top, look for a couple of solder pads marked JP5 just to the lower left of the CMOS battery holder - that is the CMOS clear jumper (apparently actually having jumper pins there is optional :Disjust; just unplug your machine and use either a bare wire or something else made of metal to jump those two pads for a few seconds. Let us know if that works.
