Updated see my 10/14 post
i was right originally --it's Playboy's Cover - Adrianne Curry
<=== apoppin has real 'wolf' 'instincts' :p
:Q

:D
from her blog - linked below:
I wish I could give more details, but I can't. Nvidia, the people who made the "virtual me",(I blogged about it and included pictures) are coming out with the new software (which is in my image) November 8th. I will be flying up to North Cali to watch it all go down.
======================================

for those refusing to go to the inq:

...........................

and to the original story [great job boys for breaking the best g(80)-string news] - theinq :p

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=34992">
The geek's ultimate dream</a>
WE LEARNED that the upcoming G80 can render a real chick. It is so powerful that it can put Nalu and Dawn, the previous Geforce, models to shame.

Nvidia hired a professional model, a cool chip chick, who featured in the February 2006 issue of Playboy, and did a live session with her. They captured her motion and shot supporting photography.

The demo for the big launch in 'week 45' or early November will show a super-hot chick based on a genuine celebrity model, not a made-up figure, and it will probably make you drool.
:Q

and in other related news:

G80 is Geforce 8800 GTX, GTS
Nvidia still refuses to talk about the actual number of pipelines on the chip but we have a clue that we are talking about hell of a fast card. The samples should be ready for week 43, while the actually launch takes a place in week 45, probably on the 8th of November.

The names are true too. Nvidia didn't want to take any risks, it simply took Geforce 8800 GTX for its flagship product and re-intruduces the Giga Texture Sshader term, GTS for its second fastest product.

if it's the cover PlayBoy chick . . . she IS hot
sorry i can't link for you . . . :p

i am impressed and then i am not:

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g56/adrireznor2/Adri3D-1.jpg

these are "safe'"
[the hair looks great in one pic; the face looks 'rendered' in another]

. . . and here is her blog on MySpace
[i have not read it all to see if it is 'safe' but evidently the pics are real rendered by g80]:

NeXt, Modeling, tv, and Nvidia

Dammit appopin, you made me give the inquirer another hit. Next time say a link is from them so I don't do anything good for that FUD site.

As far as the Playboy thing, it's already being discussed elsewhere.

You would need a physics card for when she does jumping jacks.

Let's keep it real guys. This conversation sounds like it's better had in OT.

well i think it IS pretty damn impressive that G80 can render a hot human female form instead of the 'artificial' forms that we have seen so far. . . . imo this is real progress

i just bit my tongue

No, real progress is if they made the technology worse so that certain game-playing hermits will get out and meet real girls. Then you might get an idea of what 'real' progress would be. Honestly this is more of an OT thread if the subject at hand is a supposed 3D rendered female.

I think the name of that playboy bunny is Cassandra Lynn.

*Cookies knows that everyone looking at this thread will search her name on Google soon after 1 second*

One highly-detailed model with photo-realistic textures, probably in a low-detail, low-poly environment, just like both Dawn and Nalu.... I'll be impressed when the card can render 10+ of these models, plus a highly-detailed background environment. Hell, just to make it easy, render a night-time city street with people out taking a walk, or something.

Word. Anyway its still a progression step to full photo realism.

Keep saying things like that, and your GF will look like blank space.:disgust:

Anyway, if the demo really is photorealistic nVidia could just provide a HD video file instead of a 3D scene. Gamers will probably be too distracted to notice the difference. They'll be like, "OMG! boobies!!" and occupy their hands otherwise. I'd give it a week before anyone figures out there's no 3D camera to move around.

Hmmm.....this is crazy. I'll have to admit I may have to upgrade just so I can say that I've seen it. LOL!
