I have been waiting FOREVER for the 8800 line to hit laptops. I thought it was supposed to be a simultaneous launch with the desktop part...and now here we are almost three months later and all we know is the low end parts are coming...some time.

Do we know whether an 8600 would be as good or better than a 7900GS or 7950GTX that's currently the high-end of the market?

I find the fact their 8800 series drivers has as many lines of code as Windows NT amazing.

Yeah, really. It's hard to believe! I was using NT 4 not that long ago.

20 million lines of code in a driver is amazing. That's very, very large scale.
