G80 Leaked pictures

Two power connectors on the card... cant wait to see power consumption measurements on that thing

That video card kinda reminded me of the Geforce 5800 Ultra, hope it performs better than it looks! 😉

I thought most governments where trying to get people to save power, this video card is going to make pc's even less friendly to the environment 🙁

Something to do with water cooling?

Yes its water cooling, that will be for the top model i guess

Im waiting for the next revision G85, R670 65nm. You could reverse the fan on that and use it as a hover its so damn big 🙂

 Why not wait for R999 and G-unit.

thats crazy, i never thought nVidia would resort to water cooling.

I'm pretty sure the water cooling part is optional and just if you want to use it for more extreme cooling. And who cares what the card looks like. Slap a sticker of a half naket anorexic woman on it and you've still got a better looking heatsink than the stock X1900XT.

Wow, that thing is long. It looks like it would overhang the edge of the motherboard by at least an inch and may have trouble fitting inside smaller cases. I also don't understand why there is a normal fan in addition to the tube fittings. Is it some sort of hybrid air/water cooler? 😕 (if it's optional, I doubt they would include it at all on the reference cooler)

The power consumption is not that big of a deal to me (it's a good thing my case has a second power supply slot 😛), but I'll probably skip it unless several good games come out during its time. My X1900XTX has been rather underused, as I've found myself mostly replaying older games in the little free time that I have these days.

that cooler is ugly. and that card is way too long. what do they need to fit there? although the die is probablly twice as big, why not put some of the RAM chips on the other side to save space? do the RAM chips run that hot? this is bigger then most mobo's and wouldn't fit in most cases. what was nvidia thinking?

I guess they're thinking that people who are willing to spend $600+ on a video card already have big $150+ cases and are willing to spend $150+ on a PSU or $100 on a power brick.

The cooler looks like an NV Silencer clone except it has heatpipes and a different fan.

I guess this means they've already gone into production.

yes the card is BIG...but so was the 7900GX2, but NV relased the smaller 7950GX2 for retail...hopefully NV will follow the same pattern.

how are we sure this is the g80 ?
anyway i do not likethe looks of it but who cares. if it performs as well as its hyped up to be i am sure i'll be able to buy a x1950xtx next year for < 200. thats what i am waiting for.

The water option is optional. It's a hybrid air/water cooler, meaning you can use it either way.

And while it does look rather long, keep in mind the X19xx are not exactly "short" cards.

HAHA It is photoshopped.

You're right, look between the fan, you can see the table.

Unless there is supposed to be a big hole in the card 🙂

...or a big metal plate underneath?

Look at http://www.tagteam.dk/randompics/G804.jpg  😉

Uhm...please look at the first pic.

Your telling me you cant see through the PCB and see the "plate" or "table"?

And the back of the card.

What happened to the hole?

Photoshopped.
