G80 Drivers

I'm going to be installing Win XP on my new system tonight and I am asking which version of the G80 is the most stable. I've read people are having problems with the 97.44 drivers and that 97.02 isn't any better. There is 96.98 on Guru3d which is WHQL certified that was included with Alienware machines. Are there any third party drivers that could be useful?

*edit* Sorry about the blank page. I hit enter by accident when typing the Topic name.

Every single version that I used up till now had more or less the same performance but issues as well.
Never had any great problem though with any of the 3 series of drivers except the known rendering issues in some games.. (crosses fingers).I think the weird problems with performance and stability that some ppl are facing stem from wrong uninstallation/installation of drivers, which seems to play greater role than what we were used up till now..
Currently I'm using 97.44, due to the partial fix in SC: DA..

There's no perfect driver for everyone. Unless it gives you problems, I recommend you stick with the current 97.44.

I'm currently using v97.28 & not having any serious problems... havn't tried any other versions personally but the consensus on the Nvidia forums seems to be that none of the other versions is any better performance wise.

First Xtreme-G driver to support the G80 from the start (no special "tweaks" to get G80 to work right).

Definitely. XG drivers are by far the best drivers I have used for a Video Card. Not to mention that the designers as well as the people in their forums are very knowledgeable and will do their best to make a quality driver version.

97.44 = weird lines and 'skewed' Cheydinhal trees in Oblivion for me. I've rolled back to 97.02 for now.

I get flickering distant textures in Rainbox Six: Vegas with 97.02. Can anyone confirm if this is a driver issue?
