G8 may not be dead quite yet...

Looks like Cadillac or GMC could take the reign on the Zeta platform and G8 ST could still be an option (was cacelled last year when it was supposed to be an 2010 model).

all they really need to do with the holden stuff is to through a bowtie on the front. the holden front ends are sexy.

Heavy springs in the rear give it a pretty decent payload capacity, yet it handles the road like a car. Also much more aerodynamic than a truck. Makes a lot of sense for people that need to haul stuff occasionally but prefer the ride of car.

mmm, I don't know, sounds impractical to me. I quite like the Dodge RAM Sport.

But I guess if there's a market...

there is, but I doubt enough to support this.

I'd love a pickup that could handle like my current 240sx. I don't use my backseats, but am regularly hauling crap. I was looking at the 2006 GTO's but they don't have a fold down rear seat.

El Camino ...El El Camino...
The front is like a car
The back is like a truck
The front is where we kiss
The back is where we....El Camino ...El El Camino...

That is ugly as sin. The Holden version is nicer.
Are you one of those people that drinks Bud light but hates Miller Light?

It's the same damn car to the average buying public. If you think it'd sell better with the Holden nose clip you're out of your mind.

so they can throw another few billion into R&D and post more losses.

Troll much?

The R&D has already been done. These are called Utes down under. They've been around for a while.
Besides, the article is really saying that the GM RWD drive platform may not be dead with G8 (a platform that's not priced into CTS/CTS-V brackets).

are you saying this is going to keep GM alive and will roll in the profit for GM?

I went looking for a GXP at my local Pontiac dealership. They had one G8, and it was a GT. Nice interior, black leather with red leather centerworks, Blaupunkt sound, and the interior looks much better in person than in picture.

There's a much much larger dealership near my college. I go steal one!

If anyone ever asks me what a straw man fallacy or troll is, I'll have a hard time picking which one of your posts here to reference, since basically all of them qualify as textbook examples of both.

if you're going to make a post, make one that contributes to the thread. this thread is about GM not being quite dead yet and the opinion of this el camino thing. My prior post already gave my opinion on it that the car should not be made since i think it will cause GM to lose more $$ from R&D and this car will not make a profit for GM. isn't that what GM wants? a profit?
